Mamdani: This afternoon, a New Yorker was shot by ICE agents. ICE agents surrounded the man's vehicle before opening fire. They wore construction vests and masks that concealed their faces. There was no reasonable way to way to identify them as JCE agents. School had just gotten out. The street was crowded with families and children. When ICE agents opened fire. A five year old child, a five year old child was in the car.

Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s when millions of immigrants flooded our shores, no paperwork was required to immigrate. No passports, visas, or work permits. Anyone who could afford a ticket could board a ship, arrive in America, answer a few basic questions, and be on their way.
They could stay as long as they wanted, work wherever they wanted, buy property, start businesses, and basically do anything any American citizen could do. In fact, in most states, they could legally vote in local, state, and even national elections, subject to the same poll tax, literacy test, or other qualifications required of American citizens.
If they wanted to naturalize, they just needed to register their intent and were given seven years to complete the paperwork necessary to become American citizens, which millions of immigrants were proud to do.
Things began to change in the 1930s with the advent of social security numbers, and then more so with the Alien Registration Act of 1940, signed into law as a WWII security measure. When the war ended, instead of being repealed, in 1946 it evolved into what we now call Green Cards.
In effect, we had completely open borders and the country thrived. In fact, during the decades we now call the Gilded Age—the high-growth period that Donald Trump claims he wants to emulate—our borders were wide open. The reason this worked so well is that we had no welfare state. People came to America for freedom and opportunity only. They came to contribute to our economy, not live off it. They did not drain our resources; they added to them.
The lesson is that immigration is not the problem. The problem is the welfare state. Shut off that magnet and America will no longer attract people looking for free stuff. In fact, we need to turn off that magnet for everyone, so those who are looking for free stuff will leave to seek it out someplace else.

LMFAO -- Trump is holding an event at the White House right now but there's no audio because the press pool isn't there. The Newsmax host notes that this is an example of Trump's attacks on the press "backfiring just a little bit"
Replying to @Parodyjeffx
Evidence of over 73,000 deaths (high civilian share from demographics and IDF data leaks), widespread destruction of homes, hospitals and infrastructure creating unlivable conditions, plus repeated Israeli official statements dehumanizing Palestinians as a group and calling for Gaza's elimination or mass emigration supports genocidal acts and intent as the most likely reading. Wartime targeting of Hamas and aid flows provide counter-context but do not erase the pattern.

A newly resurfaced video shows Trump sitting next to his aide Natalie Harp as she types his Truth Social posts while he dictates them.
Serious question: Who’s typing Trump’s 1 a.m. posts? Is he doing it himself, or is Natalie there too?

S&P 500 ✨ Daily Update:
Ladies and gentlemens, doubters and lovers… We are on the precipice of a major move relative to time, space, and the major patterns shown below.
While most are wondering and pondering the “why,” the Great Martis charts provide clarity.
It is my pleasure and privilege to take on the burden of guidance, as decades of technical and market experience have given me the ability to decipher the hieroglyphics..the pattern recognition...in an uncanny yet humbling and respectful way.
Below, the rising wedge on the SPX is acting as it should. Some might say clockwork, textbook, or playbook. It is approaching with little room to move toward its critical juncture...the moment of truth. Comparing the longer time frames with the shorter ones gives us a much clearer picture: the larger ascending and inherently bearish pattern is signaling a very powerful topping signal that complements the smaller, yet equally powerful and inherently bearish, rising wedge pattern.
It’s a process. Let it process.
For one's private perusal ..
Enjoy.
P.S For a more in-depth analysis of all these extremely important sectors, my daily market wrap and analysis for subscribers, accompanied by a plethora of charts, is out in the coming hours.
She's beautiful. ✨
Ladies and gentlemens, doubters and lovers… It is that time of the day again. Welcome to the highly anticipated update on the majestic, yet highly consequential, rising wedge pattern developing on the S&P 500.
Being blessed with the burden of tracking such structural beauty is a true privilege..one that demands rising an hour early just to capture the market's pre-closure eager energy.
The anticipation right now is uncanny. We are standing directly on the precipice of a massive, structural market move expected by the end of the month, if not much earlier. The zoomed-in chart shows the daily rising wedge in all its aggressive prowess, but the true danger reveals itself when we step back.
In my reply chart, I have added the much larger ascending broadening pattern that houses this rising wedge. This serves as an explicit smoke signal. The larger, inherently volatile broadening pattern already highly consequential on its own is being validated and triggered by this smaller, yet incredibly powerful wedge.
To compound this structural fragility in equities, i've also added of the US 30-Year Treasury Yield. It has officially broken out of its own majestic, consequential ascending triangle pattern and is now structurally positioned to head much higher, squeezing liquidity until something in the system inevitably implodes.
For your private perusal… enjoy.
Yours truly,
The Great Martis

holy shit -- Schiff ties Trump's judicial nominees in knots by asking them who won the 2016 before *before* asking them who won in 2020, which results in them sounding like election deniers about Trump's victories!

Michele Fiore raised $70,000 to build a statue for a Las Vegas cop killed in the line of duty. She spent it on cosmetic surgery, her rent, and her daughter’s wedding. A jury convicted her in two hours. Trump pardoned her before she was ever sentenced.
