Great piece from @patrickmgleason on the importance of universal license recognition for skilled workers, especially in states with rapidly-growing populations. (Looking at you, TX and FL!)

Really great work from @RepBlakeMoore and his staff. Childhood independence fosters self-confidence and resiliency and kids thrive with it. Parents shouldn’t have to live in fear of giving their children reasonable opportunities to explore and grow. @FreeRangeKids @LetGrowOrg
This is heartbreaking. Across the country, parents are being punished for giving their kids reasonable, safe independence. Stories like Karyann's set a dangerous precedent and make it harder for children to learn and grow outdoors. A child's safety is always paramount, but we have to trust that parents know what’s best for their kids.
I recently introduced legislation to address this issue and protect families against unnecessary legal intervention. This will continue to be a bigger problem if we don't take action, and I hope my colleagues will work with me on a solution.

250 years ago today, on July 2, 1776, the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia voted to adopt Richard Henry Lee’s resolution declaring the thirteen American colonies “free and independent States” and dissolving all political ties with Great Britain.
The result was frickin' awesome.

Meanwhile, Connecticut is considering a bill that would require AI to give "factual" answers.
Neighboring states with bills that basically contradict each other... if you you were wondering why we needed a moratorium.
Really pleased for the opportunity to contribute to this new @ArchbridgeInst report on economic freedom and social mobility along with @EricaJedynak, @bgwilterdink, @ebwhamilton and so many other great policy folks!

Congrats to Louisiana's @realChuckOwen, @TAPressly, and @PelicanInst, as well as a big thank you to @LAGovJeffLandry for signing the Welcome Home Act into law! This is a huge win for workers in the state. goldwaterinstitute.org/louis…
So thrilled about HB 676! Congratulations, @MattMorgan29A, and a huge thanks to you, your staff, our patient advocates, the MD legislature, and @GovWesMoore!
I'm in Annapolis for a bill signing, and oh boy, it’s crowded. @HCurryDC
Very grateful to @SenatorHarkins for his dedication to the Lifesaving Treatment Act and to Gov. @tatereeves for signing SB 2858 into law. Patients in Mississippi now have a clear pathway to pursue innovative, personalized treatments that are as unique as they are.
New hope for patients! Mississippi is the latest state to adopt our Right to Try for Individualized Treatments! Thanks to @SenatorHarkins, the MS legislature, and Gov @tatereeves for enacting the Lifesaving Treatment Act - Senate Bill 2858! goldwaterinstitute.org/new-h…

This is the way! Occupational licensing is a huge cost to workers and consumers. Time to end most if not all of them. @taxreformer @HCurryDC @GoldwaterInst

If enacted, LB16 would be one of the BEST license recognition reforms in the country. Recognition is already working in AZ, with over 8,000 workers safely licensed since 2019. Can't wait to see what it could do for Nebraska. Great piece, @patrickmgleason! @Laura_Ebke #neleg
LB16 in the #neleg gets a shout-out in this article forbes.com/sites/patrickglea…. Thanks @SenConrad for helping @PlatteInstitute reduce barriers. Thanks for pointing this out @HCurryDC
Today, Texas legislators stood up for patients with rare diseases by unanimously voting @GoldwaterInst's expansion of Right to Try out of the House. Grateful for @KingForTexas and all the other legislative champions of HB4059. Read about the reform here:

This is the Texas way. Great work from Rep. Harrison and his wonderful team! Universal recognition has worked to the tune of 6,500 workers in AZ since 2019-- can't wait to see what it could do in TX! #txleg
Unnecessary occupational licenses increase costs, reduce competition, and destroy liberty. Proud to file HB3081 & HB3353 to allow universal license recognition and eliminate licenses the Sunset Commission determined were not necessary. Texans deserve freedom to work! #txlege 🧵
Thrilled to work on this important reform in one of the best states! Great move out of the Sunshine State.
Thank you, Sen. Jay Collins and Rep. @TraciLKoster for filing legislation that would allow employers to recognize occupational licenses from other states, based on the training or testing requirements a licensed applicant has already completed. #FlaPol
