3/ We also now see what we've feared is true: people experiencing homelessness are especially vulnerable - they're 20x more likely to be hospitalized for COVID-19, over 10x more likely to need ICU & they're over 5x more likely to die. cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/o…

We'll keep connecting people to food, social supports, and resources during lockdown. Here’s what’s open, and what we’ll need, for the next few weeks at The Stop.
Today is #NationalHousingDay. Tenants are facing evictions during a pandemic. Many are experiencing homelessness. Shelters are full. Encampments grow. And corporate landlords continue to reap large profits. When will Canada truly recognize that housing is a human right? #cdnpoli

Today we reflect on what it means to enter a second wave—and another lockdown starting tomorrow—if a person does not have a safe, dignified home. We call on our governments to prioritize housing, as now more than ever, #HousingMatters. #onpoli #topoli #cdnpoli

This plan is based on strong social, public health and economic fundamentals. Moving 3,000 people out of shelters and into permanent housing with supports could save approx. $180 M / year and reduce the strain to healthcare, long-term care and justice systems.
