The Government of India has announced a one-time waiver of the USD 25 penalty for late updating of passport details on the e-OCI portal for fresh applications submitted between 1 November and 31 December 2026.
OCI cardholders can continue to travel to and from India while their applications are being processed.

Coir exports recorded a 52% increase in value in FY 2025–26, while coir pith exports grew by an impressive 72.3%.

🇮🇳⚓️Indian Navy successfully rescues 20 crew members from pirates in the Arabian Sea!
The Indian Navy successfully conducted a coordinated 48-hour anti-piracy operation on 2 November 2026, rescuing all 20 crew members of the hijacked fishing vessel Azini, more than 3,000 km from Mumbai in the Arabian Sea.
With timely support from the Indian Air Force, the operation resulted in the safe recovery of the crew and vessel from heavily armed pirates, demonstrating the Indian Navy's exceptional professionalism, operational readiness and commitment to maritime security.
Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh congratulated the Indian Navy on the successful mission, commending the courage and dedication of the personnel involved.
The operation reaffirms India's unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives at sea, protecting freedom of navigation and promoting peace, security and stability across the Indian Ocean Region.
India remains steadfast in its commitment to #SafeSeas and a free, open and secure Indian Ocean Region.

My congratulations to #Indian Navy for successfully executing a meticulously coordinated 48-hour operation to rescue all 20 crew members of the pirated fishing vessel, Azini, more than 3000 km from Mumbai in the Arabian Sea, on 02 Nov 26.
The swift localisation, interception and safe release of the crew and vessel from significantly-armed pirates, with timely support from the Indian Air Force, speak well of the Indian Navy’s high operational readiness and ability to respond decisively to maritime threats across the region.
Our brave personnel have once again demonstrated India’s ability, intent and resolve to safeguard lives, uphold maritime security and ensure stability across the Indian Ocean Region.

Guided by the Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi’s vision of MAHASAGAR, RRU, in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Service, Government of Fiji, and with the support of @HCI_Suva, inaugurated three month-long capacity-building initiatives in Suva, Fiji.
Bringing together approximately 180 officials from Fiji and eight other Pacific countries, the initiative focuses on strengthening professional competencies in three critical areas: international law and security, psychological well-being, and cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Mr. Luke Rokovada, Chairman, Public Service Commission of Fiji; Shri @suneetmehta1980, High Commissioner of India to Fiji; and Mr. Pita Tagicakirewa, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Civil Service, Government of Fiji. Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, Vice-Chancellor, RRU, joined the ceremony virtually.
The first of the three programmes, the 10-Day Capacity-Building Programme on Fundamentals of International Law and Security, commenced today with 60 participants from nine countries.
