Interesting take. What is omitted is, that it is not just companies in Europe selling to the states, but vice versa.
Also, yes, threats just make the case for those, who want Europe to have their own solution. Reducing speeds, like in Ukraine is also an argument.
As SpaceX investor, this is somewhat troublesome.
As European I am all for Europe emancipating and shifting the up at last.
Two hearts in my chest.

Best question of course would be: "how many Optimus bots are you giving away for free and why do I get one".

☝️FYI -- Why the new Tesla Roadster uses nitrogen (not air) in its thrusters:
Cold-gas thrusters (SpaceX-style) vent high-pressure gas for boost — no burning fuel.
Nitrogen advantages:
• Inert → no combustion/oxidation risk (air is 21% O₂)
• Dry → no moisture that freezes or clogs nozzles on expansion
• Consistent performance + SpaceX heritage
• Pure version of the \~78% N₂ already in air
Catches:
• Needs specialized high-pressure N₂ refill (hours today, aiming for \~30 min)
• Not as convenient as ambient air
Air would be easier to self-compress onboard, but moisture + oxygen make it messier and less ideal for extreme-pressure thrusters.

Can't fathom this.
Free and protected elections are one of the achievements of the west and undermining this by denying to secure, that the person voting is actually voting and only voting once, is disgusting.
Voter ID is mandatory in all civilized countries.
Blood has been shed for the right to vote.
To destroy this is to destroy democracy.
Congrats to the start of this milestone mission!
Launching on 19 October, @JAXA_en's Martian Moons eXploration (MMX) mission will attempt a world-first sample return from Mars’s moon Phobos. We're contributing deep-space communication technology and ground station support to help make the mission possible.

BREAKING: US ambassador Andrew Puzder has warned of “devastating” retaliation against European companies if the EU proceeds with proposed restrictions affecting Starlink.
The European Commission wants to reserve part of the radio spectrum used to connect smartphones directly to satellites for European operators, limiting access for SpaceX.
The proposal is part of Europe’s push for “technological sovereignty” and reduced dependence on American technology.
...and I presume, there is a compressor somewhere to refill the air in your tanks...
This is the larger 400-liter carbon overwrapped pressure vessel (COPV) that will go in the passenger seat in the rocket trim of @Tesla's Roadster, which is why this version is a one-seater. Combined with a 200L tank in the rear, available only on the Thrust and Rocket trims, the Rocket trim will have a total capacity of 600L.
Rocket trim comes with 10 total thrusters around the vehicle: Four rear-facing, four downward-facing, and two side-facing.
• Performance trim: Four rear fans, suction system and front and rear deployable skirts.
• Thrust trim: Four rear fans, suction system, front and rear deployable skirts & four rear-facing acceleration thrusters (with 200L COPV tank).
• Rocket trim: Four rear fans, suction system, front and rear deployable skirts, four rear-facing acceleration thrusters (with 200L COPV tank), four-downward facing & two side facing thrusters (with 400L COPV tank).

I think it's a bit too sexy for most to handle, which is why they keep the ankle covered out in public.
You guys get this, right?
This might be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen on a car…
And what a badge to have on your performance package!
In years gone by across the automotive industry we’ve seen performance names like Shelby, Banks, Whipple, NOS, Brembo, Paxton, Dinan, Calloway, Abarth, Brabus, Saleen and others.
But having the name SpaceX on your vehicle takes it to a whole other galaxy!
Save the date!

🇪🇺 Four of Europe’s largest mobile operators — Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica and Vodafone — signed a Letter of Intent today (19 Oct 2026) to explore a joint bid for Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) spectrum in Europe for Direct-to-Device.
They plan EU-based ground infrastructure and coordination; a satellite partner is still to be selected (no direct constellation investment by the telcos). Open access for all MNOs is part of the pitch.
Context: same 2 GHz MSS band where current Viasat/EchoStar licences expire May 2027, and where the US warned of “devastating” retaliation if the EU largely reserves capacity for European operators — relevant for SpaceX Starlink Direct-to-Cell competition.

🇺🇸🇪🇺 US Ambassador to the EU Andrew Puzder warns European companies could face "devastating" retaliation if Brussels reserves most of the 2 GHz satellite-to-phone spectrum for EU operators, a move that would limit SpaceX's Starlink.
The Viasat/EchoStar licences expire in May 2027. The Commission plan still needs approval from the EU Parliament and member states.

A good one!
Oh and @Tesla c'mon and invite Brian to your events. There are a lot of people who would like to see him report from there, me included!
Thanks...
