10 years gone. Today I'll be watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy from start to finish, listening to Radiohead, unapologetically swigging Irn Bru+wishing he was here to explain certain social theories(ists) to me. #siblings #Grief Something I wrote: bityl.co/A5qo

I don’t much speak of the detail of my experience anymore…but I spoke to the Speaking of Suicide Podcast about Martin (sibling loss), ‘Living Experience’ and my PhD (done for him) on Student Mental Health. open.spotify.com/episode/2pT… #AcademicChatter #SuicidePrevention

Forever in our hearts💜
This Christmas, we've created a virtual memorial tree to remember those we've lost to suicide, where you can honour your loved one with a heartfelt message or photo, alongside a donation to SoBS.

#SiblingLossAwarenessDay “Whenever I need to mention to someone that ‘my [brother] died’, it still sounds to me like a self-dramatizing lie. Tasteless. Or it’s an act of disloyalty to him. For I don’t experience him as in the least dead, but simply as ‘away’.” (Denise Riley)

New paper out from @theotherneil and me and I’m ludicrously proud of this. I know it won’t really disrupt the process of psychiatric research… but it has been amazing to really pull my lived experience into an academic paper. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

As both a person bereaved by suicide and an academic, I think this film (‘Contact Hours’) will be a difficult watch and there will be things to say. #AcademicTwitter @PAPYRUS_Charity instagram.com/reel/DBa6KX1oN…

AI isn’t allowed to assist a suicide-bereaved sibling in exploring visual-language to help explain impacts of their specific experience, but it’s ok for other types of sibling loss+grief. Hmm. Guess there’s no real ‘getting it’ outside of other siblings who’ve lost to suicide.
