Today is World Mental Health Day. 1 in 4 of us will experience suicidal thoughts, but these thoughts can be interrupted 💚 If you're worried about someone, let them know that they are not alone.

✨ A wonderful evening at the Mayor’s Civic Reception ✨ The Mayor welcomed guests to a special Civic Reception at the Merrivale Tea Room last night, bringing together civic dignitaries, community representatives and guests from across Norfolk. Among the Mayor’s honorary guests were community champions from across Great Yarmouth, who work tirelessly within our borough to support residents and make a difference through their good deeds. The evening gave them a fantastic opportunity to connect and network with civic dignitaries from across Norfolk, while showcasing the strength and spirit of the Great Yarmouth community. 💙 We were also pleased to welcome representatives from the Mayor’s chosen charities – Walk & Talk EA, Sunbeams, Feathers Futures and The Louise Hamilton Trust. Guests were treated to a tour of the Merrivale Model Village, which looked spectacular lit up as twilight fell. ✨🏘️ Thanks to the generosity of those attending, more than £500 was raised through raffle ticket sales for the Mayor’s chosen charities. 👏 A huge thank you to the team at Merrivale Tea Room for hosting such a lovely evening and helping bring everyone together. #GreatYarmouth #MayorsCivicReception #CommunityChampions #MerrivaleModelVillage #ProudOfOurCommunity

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to attend our latest North Quay public consultation and share their thoughts with us. Your feedback is incredibly valuable and continues to help shape the future of this exciting regeneration project. Following the first round of public consultation back in February, we've listened carefully to what you told us. Two of the most significant changes made to the proposals are: 🏨 Hotel relocation – Many people were concerned that the original location of the hotel would affect views of the Minster and the riverside. In response, the hotel has been moved further into the development. Its new position also creates a more attractive approach from The Conge by screening the service yard from view. 🏢 Leisure Box relocation – Feedback highlighted concerns about the scale and positioning of the Leisure Box. It has now been relocated to sit more comfortably within the site, improve movement through the development and create a stronger relationship with the surrounding public spaces. We've also updated the Frequently Asked Questions on our website to reflect the latest proposals and the questions we've received. Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing these FAQs across our social media channels to keep you informed. Thank you once again for helping shape the future of North Quay. Your feedback really does make a difference. #NorthQuay #GreatYarmouth #Regeneration #CommunityEngagement #HaveYourSay #ShapingOurFuture #YouAreYarmouth
