Can anyone point me to documentation that states clearly if the IO Write Latency for a CSV File System perfmon object (Win 2019) is in ms or micoseconds. I just can't find any docs that actually state the metric interval. #sqlhelp

Sorry, I meant Seconds or ms,
Does anyone know what the OS requirements will be for SQL2022? #sqlhelp

sys.dm_db_log_space_usage showed 117GB of 119GB (98%) full. select SUM(vlf_size_mb), vlf_active FROM sys.dm_db_log_info(2) GROUP BY vlf_active showed 51GB of active VLFs (54 out of 135). How can u have > space used than Active VLF's? #sqlhelp

Can we install SQL Server on the 3rd server independently and then add that into the cluster even though the binaries are on diff drives? Anyway to add an existing raw instance of SQL into a cluster without installing sql via the cluster if you get my drift? #sqlhelp 2/2

I know u can create a Linked Server to Azure SQLDB but can you create a linked server in SQLDB itself to another resource? So far it seems no. Can any one confirm that? I want to create a linked server from SQLDB to a SQL Instance in an Azure VM. Is that possible? #sqlhelp
I just had to fix a 3rd serving of Coffee this morning. I haven't done that in years. It's going to be a long day.

Is it normal for a partition number to change on the target table after doing a SWITCH from an identical source table both specifying the part #? The data moves fine but afterwards the switched partition gets the next # up. If I switch pat # 2 it becomes 3 etc. #sqlhelp

We see situations in which there is a TRUNCATE / DROP or ALTER TABLE on tables that are completely empty or just a few rows and it takes hours. If the process is killed it takes hours to rollback. No blocking, no waits. SQL2016 SP2 CU15. Anyone else see this? #sqlhelp

Like many others I have to say that PASS was a very big influence on my career and more importantly how I met and kept in touch with so many good friends. Thanks for all the years #pass and #sqlfamily

The USPS shipping is complete garbage right now. I have 4 diff shipments that are all late with one 10 days and one at 11 days since it was shipped with the only tracking "In Transit, Arriving Late but still on its way". Total failure USPS #failUSPS

Today is the first day since getting sick with COVID that I can actually feel myself getting better. I still can't taste or smell anything but the chest pressure has subsided noticeably and I can breath much easier. I am sure I am past the worst of it now.

We have been seeing for a while now that actions such as DROP TABLE take a very long time. I am trying to drop a CCI table that is completely empty and it has been running for 30 minutes with no waits reported and no blocking. 2016 SP2 CU14. Anyone else seeing this?
