"Get a real job." If you're an aspiring creator, or an already established one, don't let anyone minimize you. I love hearing this because what most people don't see is all of the work that goes what becomes the finished product. Yes, I get to play video games but that's only like 20% of the process. I spend a lot of my time project managing, working with editors, thumbnail artists, channel managers, my accounting team, etc. I'm also reaching out to/negotiating with sponsors, planning my release schedule, reviewing analytics, writing scripts, troubleshooting, budgeting and an endless amount of other things. Don't get me wrong, I'm not doing anything groundbreaking to contribute to society but, at the end of the day, I'm running a business... even if that business is making Mario fart or spending 12 hours putting together a choreographed sword fight for a 90 second clip. I love my job.
