An oldie but still a goodie. This drone video of Northside Chicago and everything you’d love to see when it comes to Wrigley Field is so damn cool.
Best thing you’ll see today.

An pastor filmed as ICE agents arrested two of his church members. He told the agents that the Iranian couple was fleeing religious persecution. They're asylum-seekers, he said. "It doesn't matter," one of the agents replied. My latest for @CTmagazine tinyurl.com/2w4m66ce

Sometimes I wonder
if Mary breastfed Jesus.
if she cried out when he bit her
or if she sobbed when he would not latch.
and sometimes I wonder
if this is all too vulgar
to ask in a church
full of men
without milk stains on their shirts
or coconut oil on their breasts
preaching from pulpits off limits to the Mother of God.
but then i think of feeding Jesus,
birthing Jesus,
the expulsion of blood
and smell of sweat,
the salt of a mother’s tears
onto the soft head of the Salt of the Earth,
feeling lonely
and tired
hungry
annoyed
overwhelmed
loving
and i think,
if the vulgarity of birth is not
honestly preached
by men who carry power but not burden,
who carry privilege but not labor,
who carry authority but not submission,
then it should not be preached at all.
because the real scandal of the Birth of God
lies in the cracked nipples of a
14 year old
and not in the sermons of ministers
who say women
are too delicate
to lead.

We should never be ashamed of who we are. Pretending to be someone we're not isn't worth it. Duplicity leads to unhappiness and weigh us down. So be proud of who you are with all your quirks and unique traits. Life is too short to wear a mask.

In a stunning turn of events, video footage has emerged of that first Christmas in which Mary is seen putting an ornery angel in a headlock while Joseph uselessly looks on.
1000 days. March 11, 2020 was the day for most people in the US when the covid crisis became real. Games cancelled. Schools scrambling. The WHO declared a global pandemic.I began numbering my journal entries shortly thereafter: “Day 6,” “Day 24,” “Day 335.” And now, #Day1000.
