Charlie's first game at U9s this morning (and my first game managing a team of U9s that 2 players aside have never played a match before) then tomorrow, his first U8 game as well. Nervous is not the word!

‘That’ badge versus this one… There’s only one worth looking at

Only reason it existed was financial. Old badge couldn't be copyrighted (Earl Cadogan if memory serves) and Bates couldn't make money off it.

You also have to remember with Burnham that he's spent the last few years as mayor of Greater Manchester and his interactions with City have been very different, both in terms of the fan base who make up a massive percentage and with city's community and regeneration work.

This. It's not the fans that did this, it's the business wrapped around the football club. Equally weird boating about your clubs achievements when you think about it.
I remember when the Ukraine crisis erupted and there were countless fans salivating at the prospect of Chelsea ceasing to exist. I’m not joining in on the Man City pile-on. If they did wrong, then pay the price but…

First night training at Burton. Not bad for a kid that inherited my genes.

Satpaev gets a standing ovation. They love him up there. On a night where Burnley have had precious few ideas, he's been levels above the rest.

Not surprised he had a blood condition when two of his grandparents were brother and sister and his parents were full cousins
King Harald V of Norway has died at the age of 89 after he was taken to Oslo's national hospital last week with a rare blood condition. Flags around the country will be lowered to half mast in tribute while Norway's prime minister said the entire nation was in mourning. King Charles described Harald as his dear cousin who had served with "unwavering dedication". Crown Prince Haakon will take over as Norway's new monarch.

Glad we got our home and away shirts for the boy this past week rather than have that on the front of the shirt.

Supporters are constantly complaining that players are mercenary, that the 'game's gone'. Trev is a rare exception to that rule, true to himself, loyal to a fault and everything a supporter wants their player to be. He's also the best U18 defender I've ever seen.
After 18 years, it’s time to say goodbye to Chelsea. I arrived as a nine-year-old with a dream, and I leave as a man who’s lived that dream in ways I never imagined. This journey tested me, lifted me, and strengthened me. To every teammate, coach, staff member, and supporter, thank you for shaping me. I gave everything I had, and I’m proud of the person this club helped me become. To the young players: the path won’t always be smooth. But stay ready, stay positive, and keep your faith. God’s timing is always right. Thank you all, truly, with love and gratitude.

It was the only fantastic touch he had in 37 minutes.
Nicolas Jackson was subbed off after around 37 minutes following his half-time introduction. This was to allow Mykhailo Mudryk his moment. It was agreed between Xabi Alonso and Jackson pre-match. Fantastic touch from the #CFC striker 🔵

I don't use AI to shortlist interviewees. Maybe I should use it to filter out the 90% of applicants that use AI to apply for jobs I advertise? Waste of my time to analyse 120 CVs for evidence of meeting shortlisting criteria they claim to meet in their AI created statements.
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has called for employers to stop conducting interviews on Zoom or Teams and using AI to filter through CVs "How does a young person shine in that situation? How do you get over some of your personality, your passion?"

Confess I'll be rooting for Argentina. Always quite liked the rugged gaucho character of the team. Spain bore me frankly. I get the whole Falklands thing but it's a national sentiment and identity that most of that age group where brought up with as a national rallying call.

And Messi is just Messi. Extremely fortunate to have been alive for his era. Still personally prefer Ronaldo ( o fenomeno not CR7) and I still think Maradona was more naturally talented too but as a complete package, Messi is just out there on his own.

I love the venom and hatred of an Argentina England match. Equally I love the respect and brotherhood of England and France at the end of this game. Room for both in football.

I reckon one of the French players might even break into a jog in the second half.

Any chance we can use our own academy rather than spunking hundreds of millions on City academy players?

Unless you you've got Mikel in the side you can't sit back in the area against Messi. It's as simple as that.
