Blurb / Intro to WIP #1.

Good Science Fiction asks, “What if?”
Good Fantasy asks, “Why not?”
This story says, “Take my hand…”
Man on the edge.
World on the cusp.
Can love survive?
In the time before, when the Night cared little and her priesthood cared less, her priests were taken from us by a plague the Night would not cure. For generations the faithful cried for a leader the Night would not provide. Leaders the Church did not give. Leaders whose wars showed they were not true. Leaders whose eyes beheld only power and control.
Except for those who did not wish to lead. Lovers who saved the world.
This is their story. Their Purrspectives.

From Citizen to Replaceable: How Unauthorized Labor Undercut American Work
Post #8: The Reporting Gap
Most worksite cases start with a tip. Almost no one files one.
ICE, the Department of Labor, and the IRS do not patrol every job site looking for cash envelopes or stolen Social Security numbers. They act on reports. A fraction of one percent of the people who see unauthorized hiring ever call. The rest assume someone else will, or they calculate the risk of retaliation and stay quiet. The result is that the mechanisms in the earlier posts continue because the agencies never receive the address, the shift time, or the contractor’s name.
The channels that actually move cases are narrow and specific.
ICE tip line: 866-347-2423 (24/7)
Online form: ice.gov/webform/ice-tip-form
You can leave the name field blank and still submit. Give the company name, address, what you saw, and how many.
IRS Form 3949-A for cash payroll, failure to withhold, or false filings:
irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f3949a.p…
Anonymous is allowed. An award requires a separate form and your name, and only if money is collected.
Department of Labor Wage and Hour for wage theft or misclassification: 1-866-487-9243
People who do report describe the same sequence. Internal HR or the owner learns a complaint was made. Attorneys appear. The reporting employee is isolated, transferred, or laid off. Coworkers who saw the same thing stay silent because they watched what happened to the first person. The case still proceeds if the tip reached the agency, but the personal cost is immediate and the agency timeline is long.
That gap is why the cash job, the stolen number, the contractor layer, and the refill after a raid persist. The owner faces a low probability of a tip and a manageable fine if one arrives. Raising the wage

Post #7: The Historical Quiet Period
From 1924 to 1965 the United States ran a low-immigration regime. Real wages for native workers rose.
The 1924 Immigration Act set national-origin quotas that sharply reduced arrivals from outside northern and western Europe. Annual legal immigration fell and stayed low for four decades. During those years the native-born population grew, manufacturing expanded, and real wages in construction, manufacturing, and other manual trades increased. A single industrial wage could support a household. That period is the closest the modern economy has come to a tight labor market for citizens without a large unauthorized substitute.
1965 ended the quota system. The Hart-Celler Act shifted to family reunification and opened larger flows from Latin America, Asia, and elsewhere. Legal immigration rose. Illegal immigration rose with it. The 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act granted amnesty to roughly three million people and promised employer sanctions that were never seriously enforced. After 1986 the unauthorized population grew again. Employers in agriculture, construction, meatpacking, and services learned they could hire outside the legal wage.
The current volume is different from earlier waves because earlier waves faced tighter interior enforcement and fewer state benefits. From the 1920s through the mid-1960s an illegal stay was more likely to end in removal. After the 1980s and especially after the expansion of sanctuary policies, driver’s licenses, and state medical coverage, an illegal stay became compatible with steady work and public support. The quiet period showed what happens to citizen wages when the unauthorized pool is small. The years since 1965 and 1986 showed what happens when that pool is allowed to grow and then subsidized.
The mechanisms in the earlier posts (cash work, stolen numbers, contractor layers, benefits stacking, and the refill after a raid) are the operating system that replaced the quiet period. They keep the effective labor supply larger than the citizen population alone. Real wages in the trades that once supported a family have not recovered the relative ground they held when immigration was low.
If you have watched wages in construction, packing, or hospitality stay flat while the unauthorized share of the crew rose, that is the long result of leaving the quiet period.

Here's the thing, sweet cheeks.
First, forcing every 18-year-old man to undergo surgery is a spectacularly deranged proposition, and calling vasectomies "reversible" doesn't magically make them temporary birth control. Reversal is not guaranteed.
But let's address the enormous, screaming elephant in the room.
The overwhelming majority of abortions follow pregnancies resulting from consensual sexual activity. Even the Guttmacher Institute's research has found that rape accounts for a small minority of reported reasons for abortion. Like 1 percent territory, toots.
People who make arguments like yours seem to believe pregnancy is something women catch like the goddamned flu.
One minute you're walking through Walmart, minding your own business, and suddenly ACHOO! PREGNANT! Nobody knows how it happened! Medical science is baffled!
See, I have this strange, apparently revolutionary belief, possibly stemming from the fact that I AM A WOMAN, that women possess something called AGENCY.
We can make decisions!
We can establish boundaries!
We can decide who gets to put their penis inside us, and under what circumstances!
And if we don't want to become pregnant, there are a number of options available:
Don't let men ejaculate inside you.
Use contraception, and use it PROPERLY.
Enjoy any of the approximately ELEVENTY BILLION other ways human beings can give each other sexual pleasure without engaging in intercourse.
None of these methods requires a government official to show up at a young man's house with a scalpel and a court order.
Now, obviously, contraception can fail. Sexual assault exists. There are circumstances in which women have no meaningful choice whatsoever. Those are real issues deserving serious consideration.
Pretending that women are helpless passengers in their own reproductive lives, utterly incapable of making decisions about sex, is not the magnificent feminist argument you apparently think it is.
Women have agency. Men have agency. Both have responsibilities.
Bodily autonomy doesn't become an optional extra just because the person whose body you want to control happens to have testicles.
You don't defend one person's rights by demanding that the government forcibly operate on someone else.
You're calling for authoritarian lunacy while wearing a cheap feminist Halloween costume.
Frankly, I think women deserve a hell of a lot more credit than you're giving us.
You want to ban abortion???
Then force VASECTOMIES at 18. Reversible. Low risk. Zero deaths.
Or is bodily autonomy only for men???
Answer wisely!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Vasectomies are not considered a reversible operation.
1/4 are irreversible after 3 years, and less than 1/2 are reversible by 9 years.

Here's the thing, bucko.
I wouldn't say the GOP is pro LGBT or even ANTI LGBT.
They are anti-having-gay-cock-shoved-in-their-kids-faces.
They are anti-being-forced-to-celebrate-things-they-dont-like.
I'm bisexual. The reason I get along with so many conservatives is simple. I don't wave my sexuality in their faces. I also don't demand they celebrate or approve of it.
Also, my sexuality is the least interesting thng about me, right up there with my skin color.
It's been a lot easier, honestly, since I married a guy recently. But hey, I dated far more women.
Now sure, some people out there just hate anything gay related. They are still welcome to follow me as long as they aren't being shitty about it.
Thats the other thing about most conservatives you don't understand, and never will. I wrote an article telling people to reconsider being rude to transgender people.
There's a TON of disagreements in the comments. YOu know what there isn't any of?
"FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING FAGGOT LOVER"
"OMG YOU LOVE TRANNIES YOU'RE NOT A CONSERVATIVE"
etc etc etc.
I think I had one person so disgusted they decided to unfollow me. They were still polite about it.
We have decent disagreements, and we actually talk to each other. Many of these people disagreeing with me are long time followers, and will continue to be. We'll agree about somehting tomorrow, then disagree again next week.
See, we conservatives will disagree about things, and still respect each other.
Thats something you need to learn how to do, because every day you fail to do that, more people join us.

From Citizen to Replaceable: How Unauthorized Labor Undercut American Work
Post #3: The Contractor Layer
Large companies rarely put unauthorized workers on their own payroll. They hire a contractor who hires a subcontractor who hires the crew.
The prime contractor wins the bid. The general contractor manages the site. The labor broker or staffing firm supplies the bodies. The people swinging the hammer, hanging the drywall, or cleaning the rooms never appear on the company that owns the project. When ICE shows up, the prime points to the contract. The contract points to the sub. The sub disappears or pays a fine. The project continues with a new crew the next week.
This is why small operators get charged and national firms rarely do. The small shop is the one that signed the I-9s or handed out the cash. The large buyer wrote a scope of work that never required E-Verify and never asked for proof the workers were authorized. The margin stays with the company that never touched the paperwork. The risk stays with the company that did.
Federal law already covers the knowing use of a contract to obtain unauthorized labor. 8 U.S.C. § 1324a makes it illegal to hire or to use a contract to hire someone not authorized to work.
Most buyers never face that statute because investigators stop at the first layer that has the workers on site.
Its like arresting drug users and letting the dealers and their big connected sponsors go free. The public sees the facade and feels something is being done.
The layer above keeps the relationship and the bid.
The American carpenter, electrician, or cleaner never sees the opening. The wage is set by the contractor who can always find another crew that will take less. The prime contractor can claim it has a compliance policy while the actual labor never passes through its HR system.
If you see a national brand or a large general contractor whose sites are always staffed by the same rotating subcontractors, and those subcontractors never seem to have American crews, that is the mechanism in Post #3.

Seriously.
From WWI-VietNam, no matter your MOS or time in theater, you get a property tax discount.
If you got an Afgan Ribbon or any other post Gulf I ribbon, you get a discount.
Between 'Nam and Afghanistan, you get bupkes unless you have a recently reviewed Service Connected Disability.

It seems @DataRepublican has discovered that the Dems & DSA communists have been working on very specific and detailed plans for instigating a coup / regime change / civil war in the U.S. after next month's midterm elections:
< Leading Dems are hatching up the following strategy:
1. After the midterms, use the DSA to incite and carry out violent civil unrest.
2. Make the violent civil unrest so bad that Trump must invoke the Insurrection Act.
3. Use the invocation of the Insurrection Act to create a national sense of illegitimacy.
4. Dem governors will then appear justified in taking the extreme action of refusing to acknowledge federal authority.
5. Push to form a new "legitimate" federal government via various means, including an Article V transformation of the Constitution. >
Let me break down what I'm seeing and hearing here from DR.
I don't know DR's source for these materials , but they appear completely legit and are profoundly disturbing.
These are leading members of the Democrat Party hatching up the following strategy:
1. After the midterms, use the DSA to incite and carry out violent civil unrest.
2. Make the violent civil unrest so bad that Trump must invoke the Insurrection Act.
3. Use the invocation of the Insurrection Act to create a national sense of illegitimacy whereby Democrat governors appear justified in taking the extreme action of refusing to acknowledge federal authority and push to form a new form of federal government via various means, including an Article V transformation of the Constitution.
Maybe there is more to this and it's not as bad as it seems, but right now this appears to be a conspiracy to create the next Fort Sumter.
This is a CIA-style color revolution in real time, on our own soil.
(Of course the legacy media is nowhere near this--it takes us Internet randos to get the word out.)

From Breadwinner to Broke: How Foreign Labor and Corporate Greed Stole the American Dream
Post #17: The American Worker Pays for Their Own Replacement You Funded Their Job. And Lost Yours.
You pay your taxes, fund universities, and support government programs. And in return? They train your replacement.
How It Happens:
American taxpayers fund public universities that educate visa holders who then take U.S. jobs.
Government grants and subsidies go to corporations that offshore work or import cheaper labor.
You pay into systems that quietly displace you ... then get labeled unskilled when you speak up.
...
Who Benefits:
Tech companies that lobby for more visas while taking your tax dollars.
Universities that rake in full tuition from foreign students, while locals drown in debt.
Politicians who get donations for keeping the cheap labor pipeline open.
...
Real Examples:
Rutgers, Purdue, and others have used federal funds to expand programs targeting international enrollment.
Big Tech firms like Infosys and TCS receive U.S. grants and contracts while laying off American workers.
H-1B holders are trained in taxpayer-funded classrooms, then hired instead of the very citizens who funded them.
Then those same universities have offices where bounties are paid to place H1B - See all the ads for H1B openings in universities? That is incentivized and there is big money in placing a foreigner in a non-capped non-profit role that often results in a pathway to a green card and faculty placement slowly taking over our acedemia.
...
This Isn’t Just Unfair. It’s Inverted Justice.
The people who built this country are being pushed aside... by a system they pay for.
It’s Time to Stop Subsidizing Our Own Displacement.

From Breadwinner to Broke : How Foreign Labor and Corporate Greed Stole the American Dream
Post 3: The $20,000 Trick That Made CEOs Billionaires $5 Saved per Worker = $5M for the CEO
It doesn’t take a grand conspiracy. Just a spreadsheet and a loophole.
Imagine a corporation that offshores 10,000 jobs or replaces them with H-1B visa holders. That’s $20,000 or more in average salary savings per worker. Multiply that across the workforce, and you’ve got at least $200 million in “cost savings” overnight.
That money isn’t going to workers. It’s going to executives. Bonuses. Stock buybacks. it might even trickle to the Shareholders. Everything but labor.
This is how the billionaire class was built, not on innovation, but on arbitrage. Innovation brings about the parasites.
Instead of paying Americans what they’re worth, they used imported labor to cap wages and accelerate profits. The same job gets done for less, and the “savings” become wealth extraction.
It’s not just tech. It’s hospitals, logistics, finance, retail. Every industry where labor can be squeezed, it is. Its more important to squeeze the bottom than the top if you want the system to work.
When people say “the rich got richer,” this is how. The difference between paying $80K and $60K multiplied by hundreds of thousands of workers adds up. The difference between an American citizen with leverage and a foreign worker with none.
And when the profit lines go up, you’re told it’s because of market brilliance, or that Americans wont work in these positions when less than 40% of American stem grads manage to get placed. They even convince the folks they are bringing in that Americans are lazy and dumb so do not deserve the jobs. But really, it’s wage theft in slow motion.
And here's what they don't want you to notice: replacing 10,000 workers with lower-paid labor doesn't just save $200 million. It also suppresses wages for the rest of the workforce. Once companies anchor a new lower pay grade, everyone below the executive tier feels the squeeze.
A single wave of undercutting ripples outward. Raises stall. Standards slip. Americans get stuck while shareholders celebrate.
Next time you hear a CEO talk about efficiency, ask how many American jobs they replaced to get there.

From Breadwinner to Broke
Post 2: The Great American Pay Cut "One Wage Cut. A Nation’s Fall."
Wage suppression didn’t just hurt the lowest rung of the ladder- it broke the whole thing.
Since 1979, worker compensation has flatlined while productivity has soared. Before that, for every 1% increase in what workers produced, they saw about 1% more in their paychecks. After 1979, productivity continued climbing- but wages were left behind.
The reason? America changed the rules.
Trade deals like NAFTA and China’s WTO admission opened the floodgates to offshoring. At the same time, immigration policy shifted dramatically: instead of protecting American wages, it began importing millions of workers willing to accept less.
This wasn’t an accident. It was a strategy:
Illegals hold down wages in agriculture, hospitality, and construction. This sets the floor that white collar jobs start from.
H-1Bs suppress middle-class wages in tech, healthcare, and finance.
OPT students work without payroll taxes, undercutting entry-level U.S. grads.
Wages didn’t just stop rising, they were forcibly suppressed to maximize profits for corporations and our politicians accepted bribes to do it.
From 1948–1979:
Productivity grew 2.5% annually
Compensation grew 2.1%
From 1979–2025 (projected):
Productivity grew 1.4%
Compensation grew just 0.6%
This is theft by spreadsheet. A $5 difference per hour times millions of workers over years becomes billions funneled upward. That’s how the 1% got rich while the middle class got squeezed.
Next time someone says “wages are rising,” show them the facts.

On veut l'antimatière.
On veut l'antigravité.

The biggest problem I have with writing is I can't do it intentionally.
Editing I can do intentionally, but I have to be bored and letting my mind drift into the World of WIP for scenes or dialogue to appear.
I started while sitting at a COVID swab station.
The less bored/more stressed I am (like, because of looking for work/dealing with medical issues, etc) the less my brain can let my WIP create itself.

My company used to actively hire Muslim workers because we were seriously short-staffed.
But now, the company has made it clear that we will not take the same approach again.
The reason is simple.
The people on the ground couldn’t handle it anymore.
We were asked to provide a dedicated prayer space.
We were asked to change the cafeteria menu.
We were asked to rearrange work assignments because someone refused to work with a particular colleague.
Some workers said certain tasks were too difficult and they didn’t want to do them.
At first, the company tried to accommodate these requests whenever possible.
But once you accommodate one request, another one follows. Then another.
Eventually, it started to feel less like the company was hiring employees and more like the company was being rebuilt around the lifestyle of a small number of people.
That’s not diversity.
When people from different backgrounds work together, everyone has to make some adjustments.
“Change the workplace to fit our religion, culture, and values, while we don’t have to adapt ourselves.”
You can’t seriously call that multicultural coexistence.
If you come to Japan to work, adapting to the workplace here is part of the deal.
And that’s not something we should demand only from foreigners.
Japanese employees have to follow workplace rules too.
If you expect consideration from others, you also have a responsibility to show consideration toward them.
The moment that principle disappears, “coexistence” becomes nothing more than one-sided demands.
