For about the last 26 years (out of 38), I have voted from the position of: which candidate is going to do the least amount of harm to me? So, I'm no Republican (God knows I despise so many of them), but if you think that voting Democrat this November, or in 2028, is going to: Lower gas prices Stop the Iran conflict Keep the border secure Lower housing costs Resolve anything between Palestine and Israel ...then you're out of your mind. People have to remember that politics is a process; it's not a light switch with instant results. The changes made in the Republican Party would have been unimaginable 15 years ago (neocons and econotards being replaced by nationalists, patriots, common-good conservatives, etc). It just takes time to continue. I once read somewhere that most marathoners who drop out of a race quit between miles 18 and 22. One should keep that in mind: my own generation (X) might not live long enough to see the finished transformation. Millennials might be in their 60s by the time it's finished. These are the timelines on which you have to operate. The changes made in the Democratic Party, otoh, were already visible and predictable all the way back in 2000. Before anyone touts some kind of Obama numbers on affordability, the Dems of today are a different animal, driven by the Democratic Socialists. They are the party's vanguard now, and their siren song of affordability and government programs is seducing the young, in spite of the fact that FedGov has never, in its entire history, touched something and left it simpler, freer, less expensive, or less corrupted than it was before.
