Homer’s Odyssey was the first major piece of literature in the Western canon and we’re currently living through Nolan’s Odyssey movie. So if you think about it, all art and literature now sits in a 3,000 year Odyssey sandwich.

Lots of good material from Matt @Growcoot about affidavits
in Nick Ut’s pending defamation trial in France against makers of the "Stringer" #doc. The doc makes the extremely belated claim Ut did not take the mythical "Napalm Girl" photo in #Vietnam in 1972.
Kim Phuc, the badly burned girl at the center of the photo, "has always stood by Ut, and has submitted testimony to the court calling the Stringer an 'outrageous and false attack on Nick Ut,'" Growcoot reports.
➡️Having seen the doc, it's more likely than not, in my view, Ut *did* take the photo

I'm honestly SHOCKED at how the general public has NO IDEA Artemis II is taking humans out to the moon and will be the furthest humans have ever flown. Every non-space nerd I've talked to has no idea. WE GOTTA GET PEOPLE STOKED!!!! THESE FOUR HUMANS ARE FLYING TO THE MOON!!!

As I wrote five months ago, it's more likely than not Nick Ut took the "Napalm Girl" photo for @AP in Vietnam in 1972.
"What is so striking about 'The Stringer' [film] is its fundamental unfairness. [Horst] Faas, a two-time Pulitzer winner, is cast as the villain, without recourse to defend himself. He died in 2012. It is left to [Carl] Robinson, his accuser, to ruminate about Faas' motives in supposedly miscrediting" the famous photo to Ut more than 50 years ago.

The film's exploration of authorship, ethics, memory, war, and dignity makes it very compelling – with caveats.
