This is literally the #1 question every first time user will have. The fact it can't be directly answered over 15 tweets by a leading member of the team is terrifying. If there is no clear and simple path to profit, you will never acquire new users.

First, there are plenty of free tools that can be used to learn the ropes. Currently loving Zlead for the quick above the fold vantage point and filtering. However, for a new player this takes some time to get accustomed to. That being said, here's what I would suggest 1/x

If I were to answer this question honestly. It is to play to the meta. Abuse C1 Level advantages, and use XP Boosts on young horses. Pushing them to be the highest level possible for the lowest amount of races. Then PRAY the meta won't change before you get there.

Try explain that to a first time user. It sounds insane. It doesn't feel like it is within the realms of possibility. And 99% chance they will screw it up, because this game has been optimised to the nth degree and someone else will do it better..

So.. Zed has won me back. And it's all thanks to one thing. Having a Jockey! 🙌 Now, I can focus on the strategic and enjoyable aspects of the game, in my own time, without getting caught up in the *constant* grind and monotony of putting horses in races.

Honestly, I didn't realise it. But the tedious aspect of race entry and the grind-to-keep-up requirement, were massive blockers to me having fun in Zed. And I hope it is something that is improved. It gets me super excited for sit'n'gos and how that will impact how people play.

Wanted to provide a quick update on my previous report on unique studs. Things are going in a much better direction! Higher unique studs is implying more studs are seen as viable, which IMO, is healthier for the game and what they were trying to accomplish 👏

I initially hoped 3.0 would increase the unique studs, but early signs show it trending down slightly. Could this be the result of one trait mattering significantly more? Disincentived breed types? Lower breeding volume? Interested to see how this progresses!

The odd thing is, I think they have great intentions behind each of their moves. They just are getting the details so wrong, and not properly considering the repercussions.

Some of these had a lot of good come out of them also, and I think 'Aging' is almost perfect. But it is so frustrating seeing every positive development flanked by an even worse outcome that could have been mitigated.
