Here is the second video from the Homeland Category from the Jack. This category can use any protein and is all about presentation like the desserts. The first video is a little farther down my feed below the three dessert videos.
The final dessert video from the Jack Daniels invitational from earlier this month. There are three total if you want to see them all. I'll post the savory stuff next.
More desserts from the Jack Daniels Invitational in Lynchburg TN a couple weeks ago. Really wish I got a chance to try that golden pear. It was not at my judging table and was gone by the time I got over to it once judging was done
Here are some of the desserts from the Jack Daniels Invitational. Who knew BBQ guys can make desserts? Some can. For some, it's the wife or girlfriend. For some, they bring in pro or semi pro ringer (I'm looking at you David E). There were so many that I made 3 of these vids
English Cut Beef Ribs, smoked indirect over charcoal with hickory. Serious question, does this bark make me look fat? Foolproof recipe will be in the comments below.

My fave category at the Jack Daniels Invitational, as a judge, is the Homeland category. With so many intl teams, it encourages teams to share dishes from home. Most US teams just go over the top with absolute decadence. I broke this into a few videos. Stay tuned.
Just enjoying @redferrin at the @JackDaniels_US invitational. These folks know how to throw a party
Just hanging out at the @jackdaniels_us Invitational, party on the hill. This is my favorite weekend of the BBQ year. Come find me in the hollow tomorrow and I’ll buy you a beer.
Finishing up those hanging tomahawks caveman style next to some roasting bone marrow while camping in Bryce Canyon Utah 7 years ago. More on this later.
Have you ever had pork collar? This is what most competition guys turn in for the pork category. Basically, it's the best part of the pork shoulder. Recipe in the comments below.

Too rare, just right, perfecto?
I'll post the recipe for both this tomahawk and the compound butter in the comments below
And here's the recipe for that compound butter:

Here's the foolproof recipe for the reverse seared tomahawk: grillinfools.com/reverse-sea…
Just one of the perks of a shoot day. We filmed 8 recipes that day in just under 7 hours. One of them was this tomahawk and my favorite part of a tommy, is red meat, right off the bone!
The Jack is only about 10 days away. If you can get there, I highly recommend it. Go find a spot near the bleachers next to the judges' tent. Trust me, Lynchburg TN is the place to be. @JackDaniels_US
A little indirect tri tip action, over charcoal. Such a versatile cut. I can eat it like steak or cube it and throw it in a pot of chili. Recipe in the comments below.
