Shellenberger doing yeoman service down under. Of course, he’s an American so principle first thinking is 2nd nature. 🫡
So it turns out that @AnikaWells, the lady who wants to censor her political enemies at home and the entire Internet globally, lied about her misuse of public money for personal travel. And it's not even her first time. No wonder these lying crooks are desperate for censorship.

What’s terrifying about this clip isn’t their ideals…these sweet gals’ hearts are certainly in the right place. What’s terrifying is they have the civic, political, and economic literacy of a 9 year old. When a charlatan like Abdul comes along with the Jr High class president schtick of “no more homework and the vending machines are all free!”, they fall for it. I don’t know how you get to that age with ZERO understanding of supply chains, manufacturing, labor costs…but a lot of folks think that medicine and MRIs and hospitals just materialize out of thin air like unicorn farts. They’ve never built anything in their lives, so they have no concept of how things function…things are just…there. They think milk comes from the store. They think rich people don’t pay taxes, even though the top 1% fund 40% of government with their taxes already, and yet 40% of all Americans contribute ZERO federal income tax at all. These people don’t understand that you could tax the wealthy at 100% and it would only fund the government for 120 days. Then you’re screwed. Too many Americans simply have zero understanding of how anything works, and even though they’re living in the easiest times in human history, they think things are “terrible out there”. These commie scammers roll through and promise them things that sound great, but aren’t possible in reality, and have devastating consequences if tried…but because they don’t know anything, they fall for it. Sadly, so many of our politicians and their advisors are such atrocious communicators, there’s like zero countervailing narrative to push back on the commie gobbledygook, so we are gonna have to learn the hard way. Guys…we just had a sample of socialism: Covid. We all got universal basic income, and it ended up tripling our costs and they’ll never go down. Ever. That one brief little experiment in command and control government will haunt us the rest of our lives. Bleak stuff, man.

I see post after post saying, “Imagine if the roles were reversed.” But who are they appealing to? You were scammed into seeing Western civilization as morally tainted, then finessed into surrendering it as “justice.” Now you’re asking the scammers to be fair to you? Look at the scam. Over decades, left theory subverted the institutions and it recoded the structures of Western civilization one by one as forms of oppression trapping real human potential. Property became exploitation. Family became patriarchy. Nation became exclusion. Western history became colonialism. Inherited institutions became privilege. Traditional norms became hierarchy reproducing itself. The vocabulary changed, but the move stayed the same: locate domination inside the inherited form, then make liberation mean overcoming it. There's no manifesto saying “Western civilization must disappear;” that would have given away the game. The attack arrived concealed and piecemeal: tear down patriarchy, expand diversity, equity, and inclusion, deconstruct the norm, decolonize the curriculum, redistribute the power, abolish the hierarchy. Each demand looked local. Together, they taught you that the recognizable parts of Western civilization were the things humanity needed to get past. Eventually the conclusion formed in your own head: maybe the problem is that my civilization still exists in recognizable form. Maybe humanity reaches something freer and more genuinely human only after it moves beyond the institutions, boundaries, norms, and inheritances that made Western civilization what it was. Then came the scam that closed the deal: the good things were detachable from the civilization that had produced and carried them. Freedom, prosperity, science, cooperation, technology, social trust. These became universal human goods trapped inside bad historical forms. Western civilization was recast as the shell. The goodies were inside it. Break the oppressive shell. Keep the goodies. That was the scam. You were taught to surrender Western civilization because you were promised that everything worth keeping would somehow improve after its destruction. You aren't going to get anywhere by appealing to the people who scammed you.

Q. Do you have any idea why so many women are choosing to defend a woman for murdering her 3 children? A. There are at least four factors at work in that hideous mess. First, the second wave of feminism -- despite various attempts to subdivide, we're still in that -- started out as a quest for equality, but during the 1980s abandoned that noble goal to become a crass and greedy pursuit of privilege instead. At this point it's an ideology of white women of the privileged classes, whose central credo is that they deserve whatever they want and must never be held accountable for anything they do. Do you recall how, in 2016, women of that class responded with incandescent hatred and rage to any suggestion that Hillary Clinton had any responsibility for the embarrassing failure of her campaign? This is the same thing. The women who are rallying around the person in question are frantically trying to insist that a woman of the privileged classes (the person we're talking about had a household income of $400k a year, in the top 1/2 of 1% of American families, as well as three doctors and a nanny to help with childcare) must not be blamed for anything ever. There you see their projection of their own sense of guilt and failure. Second, there's the effect of the glorification of abortion and childlessness among women of this same class. Having killed unborn children or simply refused to have them, a great many women in that demographic feel conflicted about that, and glorifying a baby-murderer is one way to double down on that, in a very human manner. Third, the class to which the great majority of these women belong -- the managerial class -- is being thrown out of power due to its own decadence and fecklessness. It's an elite replacement cycle of the usual kind, like the one that threw the investment class out of power in the 1930s, and in the usual way the people who are losing power can only see that in apocalyptic terms. I did a blog post about that a while back and I've noted before that I expect mass suicides in the managerial class as this bites down harder. That members of that class would glorify child-murder is par for the course; eventually they'll turn that same rage and despair on themselves. Finally, there's a demonic component. Our society is embarrassingly ignorant of even the most basic elements of spiritual hygiene; we live in a fetid morass of decaying astral and etheric energies, and demons thrive in such environments. Since our rationalist ideologies make it hard for most people even to begin to take an appropriately wary stance toward intrusive thoughts and feelings, demons are having a field day messing with the corrupt and clueless. As Marlowe points out in his Doctor Faustus, nothing is easier than summoning demons; all you have to do is descend to their level, and there they are. A great many people are doing this, with predictable results.

The inability of Experts, such as this woman, to think even moments beyond their Perfect Theories ought to be remembered. How rarely it is.

This is what Rene Guenon called the “reign of quantity,” where quantification is the sole metric of evaluation and the notion of quality simply disappears. It marks out civilisation as worse than Philistine, because at least a Philistine values something, even if it’s the wrong thing. We don’t really value anything because we don’t know how to. We only respect sheer weight of numbers. Mass. It’s incredibly depressing that even men of enormous wealth and ambition, who may very well begin our journey to the stars, have as degraded a sense of value as a bacterial or a yeast cell.
Jeff Bezos on why he wants a trillion humans in the solar system "I would love to see a trillion humans living in the solar system. If we had a trillion humans, we would have at any given time a 1,000 Mozarts and a 1,000 Einsteins" "Our solar system would be full of life and intelligence and energy. And we can easily support a civilization that large with all of the resources in the solar system"

People immersed in data lose perspective. Recently when I posted on steady price increases at Costco, data obsessives (who never question how reliable it is) sent me CPI charts. Consider Houellebecq’s predictions as a novelist. He foresaw the incel in 1994. He foresaw grand Islamic terrorism in 2000. He foresaw the expansion of euthanasia of old people in 2008. He foresaw the yellow vests in 2019. He didn’t have charts he jerked off to. He was observing reality around him, and talking to people. This is denigrated as ‘lived experience’ - and that is apparently less valuable than charts and graphs from poindexters. But he got it right, and the GDP numbers did not. Number and chart jerkoffs need to exercise a little humility, and be aware of their limitations.

The ONLY reason commies like this “guy “ want to give franchise to children is because they’re under the direct influence of the state at school all day.
I try to keep an open mind about new ideas and opinions, but this take on parents and children is the dumbest thing I’ve heard in a long time. Douthat’s response is perfect:

We often find ourselves justifying manufacturing because it creates jobs or boosts GDP. Those are secondary benefits. Its deeper value is that it develops the capabilities a society needs to solve problems, innovate, defend itself and shape its own future. Production is how a nation maintains competence. Which includes thinking , competent constructive thinking needs to be practiced and applied .

Yep, the lib left insisted he was an idiot for 10 years. Turns out he was just a garden variety blob style globalist.. and all it took was Trump to make them realise he, and the blob, were A -OK after all.

Few people realize is that Trump’s a moderate. He’s not trying to bring down the system — he’s trying to make the minimum changes in it that will keep it from tearing itself to bits, and the privileged people who hate him are too clueless to realize that he’s their best chance for survival.

You can prove anything by making it your null hypothesis, then jacking up the burden of proof on the converse to a ridiculous and unattainable level. This is how the 20th century discovered that inside every Angolan, there is an Englishman waiting to get out

I think I shared with you my story about when I was young, I was at a concert and could swear Bono was in front of me so I hit him right in the face with my fist. Turns out, it wasn’t Bono but as his friends were beating the hell out of me I thought,”Well, better safe than sorry”

One of the reasons the new right could see clearly throughout the woke era was because we were all thoroughly (psychologically, socially, financially) outside the institutions & patronage networks through which leftist largesse is distributed. It’s easy to underestimate the extent to which people’s beliefs are actively shaped by what serves their interests. If we created direct-to-consumer right wing welfare akin to the left, made every institution an emissary of right wing ideology (as opposed to the truth) and formed an everyday terror infrastructure that fired and murdered people for wrong think, the right would be just as sycophantic and stupid as today’s left (look at the think tank types for example). It’s clear that we’re failing online to institutionalise & incentivise a drive for truth, not that we have control of the algorithm mind you, but this place has devolved into moronic sensationalist drivel and is dominated by effeminacy.

Because the right isn't an organizeed movement. It's a loose aggregate of people trying to live a normal life while under attack.
