Scammers want you to act before thinking. Before clicking a link in an email or text, stop & look closely. Is the message unexpected? When in doubt, go directly to the company’s website or contact them using a trusted phone number—not the info provided in the suspicious message.
Cooler temps are coming, which means your heating system will be working harder to keep your home comfortable. Fall is the perfect time to check for drafts around windows and doors. A little weatherstripping and caulk can help improve efficiency and overall comfort. #saveenergy
October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which is a great time to strengthen your online accounts. Make your passwords longer with a long, unique passphrase. Choose something memorable but difficult for others to guess—and never reuse passwords across multiple accounts.
As of 7 a.m., we have close to 3,300 members out of power in 6 of the 8 counties we serve. These numbers may climb as heavy rain and strong wind gusts continue. Stay safe today. Current outage numbers:
Paulding: 1,542
Cobb: 891
Fulton: 430
Douglas: 337
Carroll: 59
Bartow: 13
GreyStone members who experience an outage can text OUT to 81492 (message and data rates may apply), call 1-866-GREYSTONE (473-9786) or report it through the GreyStone Power app or greystonepower.com. Crews are on call 24 hours a day to restore power.
Strong wind gusts & heavy rains can bring down trees & cause power outages. This storm may cause extensive outages in our service area. Please have a plan in place for your family, should you lose power. Now is a good time to get an emergency kit together & set up mobile alerts.
Hurricane Isaias is expected to bring dangerous weather conditions to north Georgia this weekend. A high wind watch is in effect for GreyStone’s service area from Saturday morning through Sunday morning, with frequent gusts of 40 to 50 mph winds.
Out of an abundance of caution due to Hurricane Isaias, we have canceled the 2026 Annual Meeting. The safety of our members and our employees is our top priority. Governor Brian Kemp issued a State of Emergency on Oct. 8 to marshal response resources ahead of the storm impacts.
Don't forget to bring your QR code to our 89th Annual Meeting on Saturday, Oct. 10. You can find YOUR special QR code in the September eConnect OR on the cover of the October issue of GEORGIA Magazine. Remember, first 1,500 registered members will receive a gift! 🚘 🪪
Don't forget - this Saturday is our Annual Meeting! The prizes are *just* a little different than the 1950s when we apparently gave out cans of oil, a loose tire, and a roll of aluminum foil. We’ve come a long way over these 90 years of co-op service! 😂
Happy #CoopMonth! ⚡ Since 1936, GreyStone Power has been owned by the members we serve.
From bringing power to rural West GA 90 years ago to powering your life today, our mission remains the same: Making Life Better.
