Canadian Critical Literacy Needs Urgent Help! open.substack.com/pub/gregsc…
Hey everyone.
This is one for all those voting, Monday.
Inspect your ballots closely, on Monday. If there’s an out of place smudge, tear, or any undue mark whatsoever on any of the ten ballots, don’t mark it.
Take it to the Deputy Returning Officer for a replacement ballot.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti, Amen.

Mickey Omitted some very important details. last night, Mr. Carney spoke at a different event in the BMO Centre which was a rally put on by Forever Canadian. It was an open to the public event.
Today, Pierre Poilievre spoke at a ticketed event for Canada Strong and Free. A multi-day political networking conference.
I hope you make the necessary corrections that completely change the false narrative you were going for, which surely... you are well aware of. @MickeyDjuric but I won't hold my breath.
So, someone from Canaduh named @UCCavalier just came and posted this, outright STATING a born Canadian citizen, like me, is NO LONGER WELCOME in Canaduh!
Work your ass off your entire life for this country, and be told you are the wrong kind of Canadian.

Lorne Doerksen just said that the cost of the BC PROVINCIAL Election is 80,000,000.00 (80 Million) Dollars.
Can @ElectionsAB explain why a provincial referendum in a province with 700,000 more people than Alberta and 43% more land mass can hold an actual provincial election for 50,000,000 less than Alberta is holding a non binding referendum?
The management of ELECTIONS ALBERTA needs to be fired.
Best voting or referendum advice anyone can give.
Yesterday, alongside Let's Talk Alberta, I spent the day at the University of Calgary speaking with students about our province's future.
With less than a week until the referendum, we discussed all 10 questions, heard plenty of different opinions, and had some genuinely great conversations with only one argument.
Question 10 was easily the biggest topic, with many students telling me they were considering Option 2.
My message was simple. Don't vote YES or NO on everything just because someone tells you to. Read each question and vote for what you actually believe.
A big thank you to the University of Calgary Political Review for hosting us!

I am Canadian, I am a taxpayer, I am a voter. Mr. Carney, I am a Canadian fed up with you treating my money, my vote and my patience like things you're just entitled to.
I get up, I go to work, and I pay my bills. When I can't afford something, I put it back. You should try that sometime with my money.
You sold yourself as the man with the experience to handle Donald Trump. So do what you told Canadians you could do. Get back to the table and get us a deal that gives our workers, our businesses and our families a leg to stand on. Your résumé has had its introduction. We're waiting for the part where it helps us, because contrary to your belief, you didn't just "get here."
A reporter once asked when you last spoke to the American president, and you flippantly said, "Who cares?" You called it a detail. You said you would speak to him again "when it matters." Well I CARE. And it already mattered.
It mattered to the worker waiting to hear whether there would be another shift. It mattered to the business owner losing orders. It mattered to the parent putting groceries back. You acknowledged your words were a mistake. But correcting your wording doesn't correct anyone's bank balance.
I am tired of you telling Canadians to keep our elbows up while we swirl the drain, struggling to keep our heads above water. You suspended trade negotiations and recalled your team on August 21. Counting that day and today, that's 56 days. You cited sovereignty and unacceptable terms.
So then show us the details on how you're getting better ones. Show us the progress. Show us the timetable. Show us what Canadians can actually count on because waiting to see how America's November 3rd midterm election turns out is not a viable or even reasonable option.
My bills have deadlines. Your promises need them too. And spare me another victory speech about diversifying trade. More customers would be welcome. But an invitation, a handshake and a potential market are not paid orders leaving the factory floor.
Your own government's report says America bought 72% of our goods exports in 2025. The rest of the world COMBINED bought 28%. You know the difference. Stop talking as though a collection of future possibilities can immediately replace the customer paying most of the bills.
And your interest in changing the global financial system didn't begin when you became prime minister. Back in 2019, you were discussing an alternative international currency system that could reduce the American dollar's global dominance.
You are entitled to your economic theories. I am entitled to ask what pursuing them means for my country and my kitchen table.
You campaigned on diversification. Fine. That does not excuse failing to deliver relief in the trading relationship Canadians still depend on. You don't get to mark your own homework by changing which promise we're supposed to judge.
I am done with the gaslighting. I am done with you expecting me to mistake another Liberal government announcement for Liberal government accomplishment.
And I am done watching your government applaud its announced efforts while I wait for something to reach my kitchen table. I can read a receipt. I can read a bill too. I can tell when a promise hasn't paid either one.
But I have noticed how quickly your government can move when the benefit goes directly to YOU!
You came out of the general election with a minority. That was the limit Canadians put on your power.
You deliberately recruited floor crossers to help assemble the majority you didn't win in that election, in defiance of the democratic process Canadians exercised. You can call that a change of heart, however I am entitled to find it eerily suspicious. Especially since others have come forward describing the pressure tactics your party uses to recruit opposition members.
Then your government changed committee membership to secure Liberal control while moving many in camera or sealing information rightfully belongingto tax payers.
I am Canadian. And I expect you to respect the voters' judgment as much as you welcome an MP pretending to suddenly changing theirs. You found a way to strengthen your position. I expect that same determination when ours is weakening.
I am tired of watching you acquire more power while being told I should expect less. Less certainty, less purchasing power but expected to have more patience, and sacrifice even more than I have already.
I am done being lectured about sacrifice by people insulated from the consequences of their own decisions. You make the announcement, but it's the Canadian people making the adjustments. We postpone repairs. We stretch groceries. We wonder what else we can cut as our stomachs rumble.
You call it a transition after a rupture. From my kitchen table, it looks like poorly calculated managed decline on the heels of a deliberate rupture orchestrated by you and you alone. And I flat out, vehemently refuse to have you sell it back to me as something I asked for when nobody did.
I am tired of you using Donald Trump as a cudgel to beat Canadians into accepting whatever you propose. His conduct does not make your decisions beyond criticism. His tariffs do not erase your promises. And disliking him does not obligate me to trust you.
I am Canadian. My loyalty is to this country. You have to earn my confidence through what you deliver. My taxes are not applause, my vote is not unconditional consent, and my
patriotism is not yours to manipulate.
I WILL question you.
I WILL challenge you.
I WILL organize with my fellow countrymen, speak out and demand answers.
And, so help me God, I WILL keep standing up for myself and my country until my dying breath. You can try to stop me, but I will defy you.
My name is Melanie. I am a Canadian living in Saskatchewan, and YOU - Mark Carney - work for me.

🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈⚫️🟤 : During the Conservative leadership race, eliminating DEI was a policy that almost every candidate supported.
Yet it magically that policy promise has disappeared during the election.
Which is what I warned would likely happen if a BC Liberal took over the leadership role in the Conservative party.
The BC NDP can't even admit that it's possible for a straight white man or woman to experience racism.
My personal DEI experience.
In the 2000s I was not able to apply for the contract position renewal I was already qualified for & working in.
Had I lied and claimed I was bisexual, I would have been given a permanent government job, with a life changing salary, all the benefits & amazing pension when I retired.
To this day no one in the union I was a member of, nor the government, can explain how me being straight made me any less qualified than someone who had sex with men and women.
I worked in IT.
But the Paul Martin Jr. Liberal government decided they would implement a crude version of DEI, that punished healthy straight white men & sometimes Asian men, from applying for government contracts in Canada.
DEI is racist, sexist and overall plain evil.
I grew up an orphan in foster care. I worked my butt off to overcome so many hurdles in my life.
When they told me I couldn't apply for my job because I benefitted from white privilege, it was a slap in the face & a gut punch.
For anyone saying Alberta separatism didn’t exist before 2015, I have some fun reality to show off.

Day 1 - Advance Voting Observations and Tips
Set aside about 90 minutes to vote.
You will need to show your Drivers License 🪪(or other Govt) identification at entrance and at Ballot Reception
Ballots - are coloured coded, numbered. Count these (10 ballots) upon receiving and confirm ea ballot has an Election worker signature
Vote appropriately and fold ballot in thirds - Election Worker signature should be seen, your own vote is hidden
Place completed ballots🗳️ in corresponding ballot boxes by colour/ number
Anyone who’s voted in advance in the Alberta referendum, if you voted “no to the nine,” can you please explain why the “no” on seeking better senate representation?
I’m trying to understand the logic.
The establishment is all the same. Just different faces.
It doesn’t matter if it’s @PierrePoilievre, @MarkJCarney, @ABDanielleSmith, or @nenshi, they are all united starkly AGAINST Albertans exercising their democratic and constitutional rights.
