Alpenglow is live! It's been a crazy grind over the past 20 months bringing this to mainnet.
Huge shoutout to the Anza engineering team, @TheWattenhofer and the research team, the Anza security team, all our auditors and bug bounty participants.
And of course the validator operators who spent countless hours with their own hardware to help us test and bring this to mainnet.

We still have a good amount of stake on v4.3.0. Make sure to upgrade to v4.3.2 as soon as possible. See solana.com/upgrades/alpenglo… for my info.
Added a client check to this and the results are less than ideal for activation in less than 2 days.
Validators - it's go time:
- Move to an Agave based client - preferably 4.3.2
- Fund your vote account with at least 0.8 SOL
- Make sure you set your BLS pubkey

Validators, Alpenglow is almost here, activating epoch 1064 (Oct 21st ~15:00 UTC)!
Make sure to:
- Upgrade to an agave based release v4.3.2
- Turn off your vote mods
- Fund your vote account with enough sol to cover the VAT (0.82+ SOL)

Alpenglow goes live on mainnet-beta Wednesday, October 21, ~14:50 UTC.
18 months of work for a migration that happens in one slot. Finality drops from seconds to ~150ms.

SIMD-0525 mission accomplished: 200ms slots are now live on mainnet-beta.
Blocks land twice as often as they did at genesis. An epoch now takes about a day instead of two.

Final slot reduction step: 200ms slots activation now pending on mainnet-beta.
400 → 350 → 300 → 250 → 200ms
Reminder, SIMD-0525 features take effect one epoch after they activate. Thus, will go live at the epoch 1053 boundary ~15:00 UTC, Friday Oct 9th.
- epoch 1051: pending activation
- epoch 1052: feature active
- epoch 1053: 200ms slots live
