James Cameron: “This is why I love New Zealand. People there are, for the most part, sane as opposed to the United States where you had a 62% vaccination rate, and that’s going down, going the wrong direction. Where would you rather live? A place that actually believes in science and is sane and where people can work together cohesively to a common goal, or a place where everybody’s at each other’s throats, extremely polarized, turning its back on science and basically would be in utter disarray if another pandemic appears? I’m not there for the scenery, I’m there for the sanity.”

The ending of Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) is one of the great emotional pivots in American comedy. The moment Neal pieces it together on the train and returns to find Del still waiting, the entire film reframes itself in a single shot.

My last #Screenpit retweet. N.E.S.S. is an odd amalgam of sci-fi, comedy and horror. Ghostbusters meets Inception, via a bit of Nightmare on Elm Street.
As someone seeking a rep, it's a tough sell, but one I really believe in. Because these characters will do awesome things ♥️

I don't think I have ever written a thriller that wasn't in some way influenced by THE STEPFATHER.
One of the best horror films of the late 80s,
Allegedly, a huge mistake in screenwriting, the heroes spend most of the film catching up to what the audience learns in this opening scene.
Yet, as THE STEPFATHER demonstrates, that knowledge gap can also be the primary source of a story's tension.
When will this family figure out they are sharing a home with a psychopath?
Granted, it helps to have performances like these, but THE STEPFATHER remains a genre classic.
I love this movie.
And the sequel is pretty damn good as well.

I’ve signed a ton of writers off query emails and the only thing I ever look for in the initial query is a logline that intrigues me.
That logline gets me to request the script and everything else flows from there.
