This is the first time in the @247Sports era that Boston College has landed multiple nationally ranked recruits in the same class.
Four-star wing Elijah Paez tells @247Sports that he has committed to Luke Murray and Boston College while on an official visit. "Coach Murray believes in me and sees what I can become." 247sports.com/college/basket…

After three years covering the Chargers, today was my last day. Starting next week, I’ll be covering the Sixers for ESPN. Excited to move back to my hometown for what could be a transformative year for the franchise.

This is a pathetic take. Covering cities and towns offered everything: Colorful stories, investigations, enterprise, and it fucking matters.

This is exactly the reason why men’s mental health needs to be a forward-facing discussion. Men died by suicide at nearly 4x the rate of women in 2024. Men are also less likely to seek or receive mental health treatment. When a man publicly says he needs help and the response is to ridicule him, what exactly are we teaching the next guy who’s struggling? @stephenasmith @espn

The death of local newspapers is a disaster that will really play out in the decades come to come, especially with declining media literacy. The thing here is that a lot of jabrones lump everyone in "The Media" together.
"The Media" can technically consist of multi-million dollar ESPN takesman, a crime reporter from the Grand Forks Herald and an NFL podcaster. But the person covering crime or local politics for say the Lexington Herald-Leader isn't some CNN anchor making millions or some high-profile political columnist. It's almost always a regular Joe or Jane who lives in the community they cover and makes just enough to pay the bills. Sure, some online and independent sites will fill in some gaps. But if you are a young person and you see this, why on earth would you enter the local news profession given the annual drumbeat of layoffs and AI eventually covering some of this stuff? Smart young people will rightfully flee to anything safer, which is everything else. A disaster.

The boy has a job interview this morning. Fingers crossed it goes well. If he’s hired, he’ll be a coworker of @LouMerloni and Joe Castig, sort of.

The best part of being at games like these, with moments like these, is having your own POV that no camera recorded and yet you can replay it in your mind over and over again from an angle only you remember

I miss when the MLB Draft was 50 rounds and by the 30th round teams would just start doing bits and making irony picks.

Anthony’s book is a must read for any sports fan but especially Tigers fans that lived through the heyday of Miggy, JV, Victor, JD and Leyland.
I read it and loved it!
Awesome job man!
