Researching a new project, I reminded myself of the allowances received by @BrightonHoveCC members in the year to April 5 2026.
Out of a total of £1,072,706, @bhlabour members were paid £761,471 (71%) - an average of £21,756 each.
The top 10 @bhlabour members received £323,610:
The chances of another @bhlabour by-election to @BrightonHoveCC have increased exponentially.
Save the date: November 17!
Brilliant, @MerlynThomas!
Absolutely brilliant journalism.
NEW: Hundreds of Israeli military investigations into killings without public outcome, BBC Verify finds.
Some of the cases are nearly three years old. One of the deadliest reportedly killed at least 93 people, including 6 women and 11 children.

It was easy to miss.
But this is must-see journalism by @BBCWorld:

Brilliant work by cartoonist @BJennings90, perfectly capturing the absurdity of counter-terror policing in the UK. #SallyRooney #SarahHelm

If you can't watch, just read how Zac responded this morning to The BBC. You're a 'top' guy @ZackPolanski best leader of a national party I can recall - and I'm 72
Green Party leader Zack Polanski to be questioned by Laura Kuenssberg bbc.in/4yVlz9h

👏👏👏 In the face of the predictable onslaught from @bbclaurak Zack Polanski turned in a solid performance re Zionism is racism. No apology, no climbdown. Jo Coburn and Nadine Dorris left spluttering with outrage, which indicates he did something right.
Dale Vince, wearing a kaffiyeh, even managed to slip in a reference to “genocide,” without correction. We’re getting there, slowly.
As for Laura, if only we knew what her own views were ...

So good to hear @ZackPolanski cut through the misinformation on @bbclaurak this morning.
The Green Party is the only party that fully supports Palestinian Liberation.

Superb letter by Green councillor Charli Anne Thompson. The excellent letters from numerous Greens illustrate that when a position is held with commitment & intellectual rigour it is very easy to argue for it. Unlike the pathetic offerings from Labour of antiZionism=antisemitism, a view that is intellectually disingenuous & in itself racist, as it ascribes an ideology, Zionism, to all Jews.
Replying to @AsaWinstanley
A really excellent response by Barnet’s solitary Green councillor Charli Anne Thompson to Zionist hooligan Sarah Sackman (ex vice chair in Labour Zionist group the JLM).
This is the polite, articulate politician’s way to say “F off”.
10/10, no notes.

"got it wrong"
Your leader defended war crimes and enabled a genocide. It's not oh whoops I put diesel in a petrol car.
It's facilitating genocide. It's a tad more than "getting it wrong".

🔴 New investigation from me: Westminster Synagogue boasts of sending thousands of medical kits “directly to soldiers” and of being “in direct contact with the IDF” — and, on the same list, asks for money to feed, wash and lodge “200 elite unit soldiers.”
The Charity Commission has already called that class of activity unlawful for a registered charity. Read the full investigation, exclusively via @mintpressnews at the link below:

Yesterday, a journalist was attacked (again) by violent settlers. Today, a group of settlers attacked diplomats and visiting politicians.
🇵🇸 I condemn in the strongest terms the attack by masked settlers in Taybeh, in the occupied West Bank, against Palestinians, our Consul General, French and Polish diplomats as well as catholic representatives. A French mayor was assaulted and a Belgian vehicle damaged. Our team is safe.
Palestinians face this violence every day. Settlers also target journalists reporting on it and diplomats. Harvesting olives, reporting the news or carrying out diplomatic duties should never put anyone at risk of attack.
As the occupying power, Israeli authorities must protect Palestinians, ensure the safety of diplomats and journalists, and bring those responsible to justice. Impunity for violent settlers must end.
Belgium will continue to press for EU sanctions against those responsible for this violence and those who support them.
This violence cannot be separated from Israel’s illegal settlement policy. Belgium condemns settlement expansion and attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land. The occupation of the Palestinian territory must end.

If I “obsess” about anything it is the plight of the Palestinians, fighting against the genocide of the terror state of Israel (founded in terror, sustained by violence, characterised by racism).
I am obsessively on the side of all the oppressed and those who support their resistance.
I oppose all the oppressors.
How about you?
Replying to @GregHadfield
Israel has Druze, Bedouins, Kurds, Bahais, Africans living in peace. The question is why you obsess about Israel while your friends from Islamic Republic of Iran who arm Hamas, Hezbullah, Houthis want to destroy Israel while you ignore the whole atrocities in MENA includying Iran

On 19 July 2024, I published two posts on my X account in which I made allegations about Mr Mothin Ali being involved in the Harehills riots. I have accepted these were incorrect and I have jointly made a statement in open Court in order to apologise to Mr Ali and correct the record which is below.
