🔋🔋GLOBAL COPPER BOOM 💥
Alex Darden, who leads infrastructure investment in the Americas for global private-markets firm EQT Partners Inc., said that even if there were some hype around AI, the list of tailwinds combined with the fact that grid infrastructure is historically under-invested is creating “significant opportunities.”
And “it’s not just a 2026 opportunity,” Darden said. “This is a multi-year, probably multi-decade investment cycle that we’re entering now.”

🔋🔋LITHIUM IS GREEN
Lots of short volatility around. Did not expect this drop in Q4 but have been waiting on 2027 as the real year of recovery.

🔋🔋LITHIUM DEMAND WILL ESCALATE
I know many on this forum are frustrated with the lithium price and company share prices.
Also maybe sick of my optimism. However when considering the facts there is no other conclusion. Lithium demand will rise significantly and if supply cannot respond in time then prices have to rise.

🔋🔋LITHIUM PRICE
Prices are down on the expectation that supply will be greater than demand. We’ll see - I am not sure which major mines are actually expected to ramp up in a big way?

🚀 China #Lithium Inventory Alert! 20261012
The lithium carbonate market continued to trade on expectations of rising supply and weakening demand, with futures prices becoming increasingly volatile.

Goldman sees a 444Kt lithium surplus in 2028. @usuallyYJLee sees a 204Kt deficit. Nearly 650Kt separate the forecasts.
We challenge assumptions with the Lithium Whisperer: inventory math, electric trucks, mine delays and equity valuations.

🔋🔋LITHIUM DEFICIT ALREADY HERE
This is a very interesting analysis by Daniel.
$LIT $LITP $ABAT $ATLX $NILI.V $QTWO.V
Sentiment on lithium has turned very negative, mostly on the back of unrelated bits of information. So let's talk numbers, not opinions. What do we actually know?
Demand. The hard data: China's battery production through August 2026 is up the equivalent of ~400kt LCE vs last year. If we carry only part of that growth through to year-end, Chinese batteries alone add at least ~500kt LCE of demand vs 2025.
Supply. Here the only hard data is exporters' trade statistics. Change vs 2025, in kt LCE (YTD Aug → full-year 2026F):
🇦🇺 Australia: +30 → +60
🇨🇱 Chile: +70 → +50
🇦🇷 Argentina: +30 → +65
🇧🇷 Brazil: -10 → -15
🌍 Africa: +50 → +65
🇨🇦 Canada: 0 → 0
🇨🇳 China: +40 → +70 (the softest number)
Total: +210 → ~+295
Even after adding the production that projects and producers have announced, 2026 supply growth comes to roughly 300kt. It's not much more than that. It can't be much more than that.
So for 2026:
Demand: +500kt
Supply: ~+300kt
Balance: a deficit of ~200kt LCE
The deficit is already here.
2027? The bears say demand will pull back. That's much harder to agree or disagree with. But the inventory drawdown happening right now will clearly push the market into deficit.
Figures and views are iLiMarkets' assessment.

October remains peak season, with high LFP schedules and rush exports front-loading demand. The monthly supply-demand deficit may widen to about 29,000 tonnes, keeping visible inventories drawing down.

🔋🔋LITHIUM DEMAND
I would say this is a very bullish trend. Cars, HGVs, Buses, Ferries, Grid Storage etc it will all come. Europe needs electrification. This will of course drive lithium demand for batteries.
$LIT $LITP
Remember how the EU's BEV outlook kept slipping year after year? That's over now.
With data up to the end of 2022 the 80% threshold extrapolated to 2031-12
With data up to the end of 2024 things slipped to 2041-09
With data until May 2025 the 80% threshold went to 2043-06
But since then? No further slide. It's been sitting around 2042 for 16 months now, currently at 2042-02.
That's not a speed-up yet, but the slowdown has stopped and I personally expect the threshold to move closer to the present soon.
Gold Miners $GDX just formed a Golden Cross for the first time since February 2025 ✅ The last one sent prices soaring more than 100% over the next 8 months 📈 📈
🔋🔋LITHIUM PRICE
Avoid the short term paper noise. Sure the bond market is spooking everyone but the physical supply demand situation is what it is.
$LIT $LITP
The #lithium carbonate spot price (USD) has fallen for a second consecutive day, hitting its lowest point since January 6, 2026. While prices remain up about 10% YTD and 125% since the June 2025 bottom—maintaining a strong YTD average of $23,123—we are seeing a sharp 4.15% midday drop in the most-traded CNY futures contract.
What is driving this? Despite solid underlying demand data and falling physical inventories, we are likely seeing the paper market dictate physical reality. Speculative downward positioning in the futures market is driving negative sentiment, which permeates the spot market as buyers use paper volatility as leverage to negotiate lower prices. In an increasingly financialized commodity ecosystem, this speculative pressure remains the most reasonable explanation for the noise, potentially masking a much tighter physical supply chain.
🔋🔋LITHIUM COMEBACK
I have traveling so not posting as much. The whole lithium sector is a bargain right now.

Lithium still has skeptics, yet inventories are falling, strategic capital is moving into the sector and long-term offtakes are getting signed.
Copper bulls prize tight supply, long lead times and electrification.
Why treat lithium differently?
