Over on Skipness Beach we came across the bones of a young humpback whale, its life cut short by entanglement injuries.
Heartbreaking.
Humbling.
Majestic.
This whale should have had decades of ocean life, instead, it stands as a monument to what we must protect.
When all your stars align!
Not content with seeing a white-tailed sea eagle, a deer & 2 fawns from our cottage AND otters and seals over at Skipness, later on this happened. The mighty Aurora Borealis, dancing on our doorstep, in the shadows of Tarbert Castle.
Mind. Blown
Wild winds, crashing waves, and dramatic skies. Nature was showing off today at Machrihanish Seabird Observatory.
Standard pic to please mum !
It’s 10yrs today since I was made an @The_RHS Ambassador.
Yesterday, they released their State of Gardening report, and I’m absolutely chuffed to see children’s gardening as a top priority alongside wildlife and climate.

Celebrating the harvest with a ‘potluck party on the plot’.
My offering, bruschetta, it was proper tasty!
Yesterday, the Earth & Environment Society hosted a plant scavenger hunt at Edinburgh Botanic Gardens. While the entire garden was stunning, the activity helped us focus on individual plant species we might have otherwise overlooked.
It’s a fantastic place, really enjoyed it!
Today’s gardening session was right up my street, as we introduced 2 rescued hedgehogs from the SSPCA. One called Boris and the other to be named by poll via the Earth & Environment Society.

Apple pressing since 2010 🍎
#HowItStartedVersusHowItsGoing
Top time with my mates on an 8 mile walk from Callander to Loch Lubnaig, just south of Strathyre.
Was hoping to spot leaping salmon now that the rivers are full and settled. No joy, but we did spot Soay sheep and a red squirrel 🐿️
Magic afternoon spent apple picking with the gardening gang. We shared the harvest and a quick text to my mum for a crumble recipe had me baking instead of boozing.
Check out my signature bake, I excelled myself 😜
Yesterday during the tail end of #StormAmy me & my mate went to the Falls of Leny. We got to the falls to find a raging torrent, definitely too rough to spot any migrating salmon. But we'll be back again maybe after some slightly less heavy rain!
Today in the uni garden we dodged the downpours and got some Elm mushrooms started off. We also saved some tomato seeds for next year’s crop. And while cutting things back, we stumbled upon some rogue spuds and a few wonky carrots.
Nature’s surprises never disappoint!

Chuffed to kick off Year 3 as @StirUni Earth and Environment Society’s Ambassador!
Tonight I organised my first event, a dusk wildlife walk around campus - 12 people turned up….

We had a big autumn clear out of the garden shed today and it's safe to say it looks a heck of a lot tidier. Also did a decent bit of weeding on some of our beds as they'd got a bit wild over the summer!
@StirUni
Kicked off our first uni gardening session today, with some lovely folk. We cleared loads of paths, cut back some vegetation, sowed some winter lettuce. The highlight for me, was harvesting some gorgeous tomatoes that I put in a bolognese back at my new digs 👌🏼
