Climate change is a daily survival test in Karamoja. On Sept 5th–6th, our team at @GreenFosterActUG & @Roots_Rights visited pastoralist communities in Nabilatuk & Namalu. Families have gone 4 months without rain, scorching crops like sorghum and sunflower

We listened to their stories and delivered direct food relief supplies to families facing severe hardship. Karamoja contributes the least to global emissions yet suffers the most. Supporting them isn't charity—it's climate justice.

Fossil fuel companies like @TotalEnergies often tout development, yet decades of oil extraction in Global South countries have not lifted communities out of poverty. The reality is pollution, loss of livelihoods, environmental degradation, and climate change. #KickPollutersOut!
Africa cannot develop on energy that everyday people cannot afford! Right now, our communities are choosing between buying food and paying skyrocketing energy bills driven by volatile fossil fuels. #GlobalWeekofAction

Uganda is the 14th most climate-vulnerable country (World Bank data). Yet its development plan underplays climate risks. IEEFA report suggests an alternative pathway: invest in climate-resilient industrialisation, agricultural value addition, and modern energy access. #StopEACOP!

It's not about cutting emissions; Africa has no emissions to cut, but emissions to avoid. How do we develop in a way that avoids emissions? That's why adaptation is key for this continent. #PeoplesAssemblyACS2 #JustTransitionRising #StopEACOP!

Today, the power of community stewardship was on full display. GreFA was honored to stand alongside the residents of Makerere Kivulu I, Kivulu II in Kawempe and the Industrial Area for a massive clean-up exercise. We were overwhelmed by massive turn up of the residents.

We stand in Solidarity with the arrested and remanded activists and call for their immediate release. The Ugandan authorities should stop all acts of stopping dissenting voices.

The same way, the controversial #EACOP pipeline is forced on communities in UG & TZ with promises of economic growth. However, Angola shows the reality: oil profits benefit only a select few, while most face a rising cost of living. This is not development; it's exploitation.
Angola is a major oil exporter, yet its citizens are dying in protests over a fuel price hike. This is the ultimate hypocrisy of fossil fuels: oil wealth does not equate to prosperity for the people; if anything, it creates instability. #StopEACOP theeastafrican.co.ke/tea/new…
