Principal Gray’s lapel pins do more than complete the look—they set the tone! Each day, he chooses a different pin to reflect the mood, message, or energy he wants to bring to the young men of YMLA. A small detail with a little leadership intention behind it.

Full-circle moment: I told 1,200+ 7th graders how picking up a saxophone in middle school changed my life…leading me to Clark Atlanta University, brotherhood, becoming a Drum Major, and eventually leading a middle school. One opportunity can change everything. @RubyGarzaDISD

Today, we watched young men who have been challenged, loved, and uplifted walk across the stage with pride and purpose. The joy in the room from parents & teachers said it all: these young men are becoming exactly who they were called to be. And this is only the beginning. ⚔️

Career Day was not just about careers. It was about exposure, confidence, and possibility. Our young men heard from professionals who challenged them to dream big, work hard, and see themselves as future leaders. @RubyGarzaDISD @Region1DISD
YMLA@Florence@YMLA_FlorenceMay 9
Career Day at YMLA was bigger than ever. Our Gladiators connected with professionals in technology, law enforcement, communications, and operations support. More importantly, they saw professionals who looked them in the eye and told them “You belong in these spaces too.”

🎶 The Samuell H.S. Bands came through today recruiting our 8th graders, and the message was clear: there’s a place for you here. Future musicians were watching. Future leaders were listening. @RubyGarzaDISD

Principal Resident Dominguez came large and in charge at Coffee With the Principal. Parents experienced a live Carnegie Math lesson, seeing the how and why behind our instruction. Just clear instruction, strong facilitation, and families fully in the loop. @LEAD_DallasISD

Locked in a 9/10 difficulty escape room with a countdown clock (silently judging us) and no room for panic. We found the clues, cracked the codes, and kept our sense of humor the whole way. S/o to my A-Team Turns out teamwork really is the master key. @RubyGarzaDISD
