Dream Log: Monday
Had a weird night. Did my usual 15-minute Hemi-Sync, then put on binaural beats and drifted off with them still playing.
In the dream we were given a mission: figure out how to get the violent progressive radical left and the Islamist fanatics to stop the constant rioting and acting like lunatics. Our brilliant solution? Puppies and kittens. Everybody loves puppies and kittens. Instant happiness, problem solved.
It was a complete failure. The progressive radicals immediately started sexually abusing the puppies, and the Islamist savages just tortured them and ate them. Experiment over.
Speaking of puppies, the neighbor has a litter of gorgeous golden retrievers and I’ve got puppy fever bad. Still fighting myself on taking one. A dog deserves real walks, and I can’t even make it around the block right now. So for now it’s just window shopping.
Anyway, have a good one. Why so serious? A little absurd satire keeps the day entertaining.

Dream experiment last night: fifteen minutes of Hemi-Sync with binaural beats. Slept hard.
The variables are shifting. I quit gabapentin two weeks ago (it was for the nerve damage, and that stuff is genuinely rough). Started medical THC two days ago. I like it. There’s something to it. I don’t feel the way I did on the gabapentin, clearer, calmer, more present. Music sounds a little better. I was content watching UFC, not mindlessly scrolling. Just… comfortable. Slept really well.
The dream was the second or third time I’ve been back to the same place. I keep returning to it.
It was a converted mall turned into senior living. One whole section was locked in pure 1980s: a record store, a bookstore, an Orange Julius, a spot where you could get a Monte Cristo and sit down at Bennigan’s. The rest of the building had been turned into apartments. Everything you needed was within easy reach, like a self-contained fifteen-minute city. People were gliding around on their little scooters. It was oddly peaceful and kind of perfect. Pretty cool.
Today’s list: My lawn guy is coming to power-wash the porch and stone deck, then watch football. Also, he's getting under the crawl space to shut the water off for winter. Need to get that done while the weather still cooperates.

Kaylub Giamanco’s mom just described the phone call she got moments after her son stopped the school shooter in Bend, Oregon.
“He said, Mom, I just shot and kiIIed somebody.”
She asked him to tell her about it.
“A man went into my daughter’s school and shot kids. And I looked at him point blank and I shot and kiIIed him, Mom.”
She told him he saved a lot of lives.
His answer: “Mom, I couldn’t save them all.”
He was driving home from lunch when he heard the shots. He pulled up onto the grass, grabbed his gun, and followed the gunman back into the school. He army-crawled through a window the shooter had already blasted out and ended the attack.
Three kids and a teacher were already gone. His own daughters were safe. Now he’s struggling with the ones he couldn’t reach and asking himself what he could have done differently.
This is what happens when a good man with a gun runs toward the sound of gunfire instead of waiting for someone else to show up.
THAT is what stopped more of them from dying.

This is why the issue matters so much, and why the Catholic Church is opposing Evil Democrats in these measures in Virginia. If a transgender-identifying teacher in a public school encourages your child to believe they are a different gender from their biological sex, and you refuse to affirm that belief, the state could potentially intervene and remove your child from your care. That is why it is so important to vote no on Questions One and Two. Anyone who values parental rights and basic clarity on this issue needs to get out and vote no on November 3rd.
