The Jacobin idea, its legacy at least, is the deviation from democracy to install an authoritarian vanguard instead. Unfortunately this is how most “communists” operate now. I blame Lenin, the self-proclaimed “jacobin of social democracy”.

Comment reconnaître la social-démocratie ? Parce que le programme n'est pas anticapitaliste. L'action politique qu'elle mène est soit sociale-libérale (PS + ersatz) soit keynésienne (LFI). La socialisation des moyens de production et d'échange n'est pas dans l'ADN de LFI.

A communist program isn’t being “gatekept” because communists insist on maintaining a distinction between communism and liberal reformism. That’s an extremely faulty comparison. Political clarity isn’t the same thing as wanting socialism to remain a niche subculture.
