I love making video games.

Trying to find real png files for basically anything you can imagine has become one of the hardest things ever. So much download betrayal.

Watched Donnie Darko last night and realized that I’ve got that screenplay basically memorized word for word.

I love when a game shows me a cool looking area thats inaccessible makes me think it’s just for background set dressing, but then you end up passing through it way later unexpectedly. I’m trying to implement this with Cryptica. If ya see it, you can go probably get there.

You might’ve heard about slenderman and sirenhead already but have you heard about gripman? Legend has it that gripman is on these streets and he’s ruining upcoming indie filmmakers shots at success. Get him off all sets!

Saying this now so I remember to put it in my game later: add giant crevasse with 2 ladders duck-tapped together stretching across. Create stress flex sound cue and add rumble features. So now wood or metal ladder?

My personal brand of escapism is making desolate abandoned ruins and filling the atmosphere with the most horrifically subtle sounds imaginable. All just so I can stimulate other people’s imagination for a few hours. Game development is being a magician with more steps.

I know people are always focused on larger things in video games, like combat, story, etc. but I think this type world building is the best part of video games for me.
