I’ve always been fascinated by ancient advanced civilisations. The book I’m writing was spawned from that intrigue and creates some fascinating answers to explain how and why what’s seemingly impossible came to be. Follow me to get early access to the book

@DavidDack quick one - was going to rest but went back in tonight. First mile didn’t feel as comfortable and soon into mile 2 I thought just take it easy tonight. 2 miles in 25 mins. When I stopped, the treadmill reduced to level - it was on 7.5% incline and I hadn’t realised.

ChatGPT seems to think there should be a substantial adjustment - equivalent to around 30mins 5k on flat ground. Does that seem about right?

Found it, looks like 250m to go - from a jog to a flat out race to the line. The Italian had a good go at catching him but he’d lost too much ground by the time he reacted instagram.com/reel/DcEtTEjxu…

It’s a concern that AI can make simple errors and people may/may not accept what it comes out with. I asked ChatGPT to work out a simple calculation It got it very wrong (see below) I asked for another example afterwards using a different speed and it did the same again.

I’m more looking forward to watching Sunday’s final and hopefully ESP hammering ARG than Saturday’s 3rd place playoff.

Flew my first solo at RAF Akrotiri, some time ago! The Red Arrows were there practicing. They did a morning practice run, then during their lunch break up I went for my turn before they went back up for another. One one of my lessons had to orbit to make way for a U2 landing

Still, 32 years later…
Worth pointing out that the American U2 spy plane flies out of RAF Akrotiri. I suspect this Iranian drone still hasn’t found what it was looking for.

Watching the rain during the discus event at the #worldchampionships2025 in Japan, makes you wonder whether a large gazebo could be used to cover the throwing circle to create a safe throwing environment.

Heard a loud noise overhead so looked up flight radar - it was an Apache gunship. So, I went out to film it and it turned out to be two of them 🚁🚁 Came over a couple of times before flying north. Not sure what they had suspended below - any ideas?

Hey @grok - what size floating barge would be needed to generate the same power as a nuclear power plant based on: Positioned in the Bay of Fundy Assume 50% efficiency for reclamation of potential energy gain from low to high tide points Reasonable assumptions for construction
