Half a million Palestinians in Gaza could be cut off from food support provided by the UN’s World Food Programme.
The agency says it's being forced to make major cuts due to a lack of funding.
Two-thirds of Gaza’s population is already facing crisis levels of food insecurity or worse.

On 19 July 2024, I published two posts on my X account in which I made allegations about Mr Mothin Ali being involved in the Harehills riots. I have accepted these were incorrect and I have jointly made a statement in open Court in order to apologise to Mr Ali and correct the record which is below.

Alex seems to have made a mistake and posted his court mandated apology in the middle of the night, so I thought I'd help him out with a repost this morning.
I'm sure he wants the most people to see it as possible.

God help us authors who support Palestine and Palestine Action. Sounds like Adam would have all our books swept off the shelves in a jiffy.
Absolutely vile.
He defames Sally Rooney as antisemitic - for opposing genocide.
He smears the Irish people as a whole.

Staff at Goldsmith's University are participating in one of the longest strike actions in their union's history.
They're suffering under constant "restructures" that prioritise profit, rather than the lives of the students and staff.
Ulster University is planning to cut up to 450 full-time equivalent posts around 15% of its workforce.
UCU’s Norman Hagan explains what’s at stake for staff, students and the future of higher education.
These cuts will have devastating consequences for those who remain and the students they teach.
We stand in solidarity with staff at Ulster University. Together, we must fight these cuts.
BREAKING: University of Sunderland staff have declared a formal industrial dispute over plans for sweeping cuts.
Management wants to slash £40m from its budget, putting jobs and students’ education at risk.
Staff are ready to fight back. Industrial action could follow unless management changes course.

From Dundee to Edinburgh, Scotland’s universities need investment now || Roz Foyer
"Five weeks of strike action has begun in response to the University of Edinburgh's utter mauling of courses and people. Up to 1,800 job losses, in addition to 90 courses, could be on the line in an 'unprecedented' move, according to the University and College Union (UCU).
"Among those courses are a wide range of Scottish literature and history subjects. This is nothing less than an act of cultural vandalism from a 443-year-old Scottish institution.
"While the cuts are unprecedented, they are also unrequired.
"That’s because institutions are caught in a chasm of coordinated failure from both political and principal level. Professor Sir Peter Mathieson, who has subsequently announced his intention to step down in 2028, is paid well over £400,000 and has presided over an institution with more than £3 billion in reserves and £1 billion in capital assets.
"Why then are workers constantly the ones who must pay the price for the inadequacy of political funding and principal performance?" 👇
