The 4 major companies linked to the Grenfell fire- Kingspan, Arconic, Ryden & Saint-Gobain- have collectively posted profits of £4.9 billion since the fire. The bosses have taken almost £50ml in salaries & profit share in that time. Capitalism.

It’s #PloughMonday, the day that traditionally saw the resumption of work after Christmas. In some regions it was common for a plough to be hauled from house to house accompanied by a man in the role of the ‘fool’ and someone dressed as an old woman called the ‘Bessy’.

Huge station poster map of the London Transport system designed by R.G. Lewis in 1960. Fascinating to see the Tube in all its geographical glory, rather than as a diagram. I love the border design and compass-like roundel (top right). For sale etc

Stop shopping at Morrison's, and anywhere else that doesn't look after the interests of consumers. It is really that simple, and I'm starting now.
By removing Use By dates on milk, Morrison's US owners are passing the wastage cost on to us, the consumers. We won't know which milk is oldest on the shelf, until we break the seal at home and find we've forked out for an unusable product.

Tories tell lies.
"Priti Patel said her parents came to UK ‘with literally nothing’. This is an exaggeration. Daily Mail said her family was expelled from Uganda in 1972 "penniless". In fact, when Amin told Asians to leave, Patel’s parents were long gone. Her father had been in the UK since 1965".
