Imagine following nearly 13 million real people for more than 10 years just to see what cholesterol level helps them live the longest. That is exactly what Korean scientists did in a giant 2019 study. They tracked 12.8 million adults who had check-ups between 2001 and 2004, and they kept watching until 2013. More than 694,000 people died during that long stretch.
The results were clear and surprising. Cholesterol and death formed a U-shape. Very low cholesterol was linked to higher death rates. So was very high cholesterol. The sweet spot for the longest life was 210 to 249 mg/dL for most adults. That is higher than many doctors call “ideal.” Younger people had a slightly lower best range, but still not the super-low numbers often pushed today.
Because the study lasted so many years, reverse causality is less likely to explain the low-cholesterol danger. Reverse causality means a hidden illness might lower your cholesterol right before it kills you. With more than a decade of follow-up, early sickness cannot easily account for the extra deaths seen in people who started with low cholesterol. The pattern held across ages and for both men and women.
The huge number of people—almost the entire adult population of a country—makes the findings hard to ignore. Smaller studies can be wrong by chance. This one is massive. It shows that moderately higher total cholesterol, not the lowest possible number, went with the best chance of living longer in this large group.
In short, the biggest study of its kind found that cholesterol levels in the low-to-mid 200s were tied to the longest lives, and the long tracking time makes it tougher to blame the higher death rates at low levels on reverse causality alone.

Adult vaccination is associated with a 50% HIGHER risk of ALZHEIMER’S and a 38% HIGHER risk of DEMENTIA, according to the LARGEST vaccine–dementia study ever conducted.
Among 13.3 MILLION people, the MORE doses of flu, pneumococcal, shingles, tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis vaccines people received, the HIGHER their dementia risk.

BREAKING: Iran sent a private message to JD Vance during Switzerland talks, warning that Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff were "abusing" negotiations — more interested in profiting from insider knowledge than reaching a deal, per Drop Site News.
Iran calculated $9 billion in profits from market manipulation by "individuals close to Trump" — and formally requested $4.5 billion of that sum be allocated to Iran through intermediaries. The Iranian official added: "The exchanged texts will ultimately become part of the historical record."
Iran also raised concerns that Kushner and Witkoff "talk almost every day to Netanyahu" and the Mossad chief — feeding Israeli intelligence with inside information from the negotiations.
The Trump administration denies the claims. Iran says the evidence will be made public. If confirmed, this is one of the most significant financial scandals in modern diplomacy.

If I eulogized George Floyd on video, spoke at an NAACP event for Trayvon Martin, wrote Democrat Socialist-lite Pro Shoplifting laws, paid 400K to a bodyman with a rap sheet and delivered nothing but 9 years of mediocrity and cowardice I wouldn’t want to debate either.
Byron Donalds doubles down on refusing to debate his GOP primary rivals in the Florida governor's race, dismissing them as stuck in single digits while he sits at roughly 50% in polls with over $90 million raised.
Donalds called a rival's confrontation at one of his campaign events "another stunt" from candidates trying to get attention rather than earning support from voters. James Fishback fired back by comparing Donalds' debate avoidance to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, arguing voters deserve to see candidates face off.

One of the most incredible storm damage pictures I’ve ever seen happened this morning in South Dakota. A 131 mph wind gust in the city of Highmore split the roof of the Catholic Church perfectly illuminating the crucifix. This is not AI, it’s been confirmed real by locals. Truly amazing. From Florida to Texas to Indiana, Americans are pushing back as property taxes rise faster than incomes and inflation.
The message from voters is simple: homes should not be taxed out of reach. @davetrabert

At this rate, in a few more years, they'll be in charge of Europe's nuclear arsenal——then what?

NEW LONG FORM VIDEO: Why nobody goes to Five Guys anymore
Five Guys grew into a burger powerhouse, generating more than $1.3 billion in revenue. It was named America’s best burger by Zagat, and even the President of the United States was known to stop by for lunch. At its peak, the chain seemed unstoppable.
But today, sales are down more than 10% from their peak. Stores are closing, and the brand has become the target of endless jokes online, mostly centered around one thing: the price.
It’s easy to blame inflation and the post-pandemic economy for Five Guys’ struggles. But the real story is more complicated than that.
This is the rise and fall of Five Guys.

There are also a lot of people who also don’t realize:
—the majority of residential property tax revenue taken by local governments is non-homestead residential properties
—homestead property tax revenue is a fraction of all property tax revenue which also includes commercial properties
—property tax revenue is a fraction of total revenue for large counties
—property tax revenue taken by local governments has nearly doubled in the past eight years
It’s amazing reading posts on here showing how many people in (or not in) Florida do not understand the difference between just market value, assessed value and average selling price. This should be covered in public school. @RonDeSantis @GovGoneWild

If a deal is struck to end the Iranian conflict because it is believed that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be protected from Iranian terrorism and Iran still possesses the capability to destroy major Gulf oil infrastructure, then Iran will be perceived as being a dominate force requiring a diplomatic solution.
This combination of Iran being perceived as having the ability to terrorize the Strait in perpetuity and the ability the inflict massive damage to Gulf oil infrastructure is a major shift of the balance of power in the region and over time will be a nightmare for Israel.
Also, it makes one wonder why the war started to begin with if these perceptions are accurate. I personally am a skeptic of the idea that Iran cannot be denied the ability to terrorize the Strait and the region cannot protect itself against Iranian military capability.
It is important we get this right.
I am deeply concerned about what we are hearing about an Iran “deal,” being pushed by some voices in the administration.
President Trump’s decision to strike Iran was the most consequential decision of his second term. He was right to do so, and we achieved extraordinary military results—including destroying all of their missiles & drones and sinking their entire navy.
If the result of all that is to be an Iranian regime—still run by Islamists who chant “death to America”—now receiving billions of dollars, being able to enrich uranium & develop nuclear weapons, and having effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, then that outcome would be a disastrous mistake.
The details are still coming out—and I pray the early reports are wrong—but the fact that Biden’s Rob Malley is praising the deal is not encouraging.
President Trump believes in peace through strength, and his strong leadership has already made America much safer. He should continue to hold the line, defend America & enforce the red lines he has repeatedly drawn.

BREAKING: Iran directly rejects Trump's claim that Hormuz "will be opened" as part of a "largely negotiated" agreement he just posted on Truth Social, saying Trump's claim is "far from the truth" and that Hormuz "will remain under Iranian management" with Iran retaining exclusive permanent authority over route, timing, method, and permits, per Fars.
Iran also confirms the nuclear file has not been discussed and that American officials themselves have told Iran in multiple messages that "Trump's tweets are primarily for domestic American propaganda and media consumption" and "should be disregarded." The "largely negotiated" deal claim therefore has no basis.
