As Chair of Melton Town Estate I'd like to thank our local toilet hire company and Town Estate staff for their response to such a horrible problem, making the park safe for the public. The show goes on & we're expecting a huge crowd at the next match on Wednesday! @MMTE1549

Quote of the day from the "Conservative Home" members' newsletter: "Labour's majority is huge but fragile. Things will get worse before they can improve. Despite the scale of our defeat, we must position ourselves to win and govern in 2029. It is time for Tory Leninism." ๐ŸŒน

On Thursday we all have the chance to vote for a happier life for Larry the Number 10 Ca!!! @Number10cat
โ€˜Twas the night before voting, when all through the nation People looked up the details of their polling station. Fibs had been told by politicians desperate for votes About taxes and housing and those on small boats While across the UK there was much corruption chatter With Conservative candidates keen to sidestep the matter Knocking on doors, they found the public most vocal They begged: โ€œPlease support us; weโ€™re not Tories, weโ€™re local!โ€ With Lib Dem Ed Davey having the time of his life And Farage returning to cause Tory strife They left Keir's Labour troops well placed for success All set for five years to clean up the mess Campaigning all done, the teams gave a whistle, Raced back to London at the speed of a missile But I heard them exclaim, as they got on their bus โ€œHAPPY ELECTIONS TO ALL, AND PLEASE VOTE FOR US!โ€

A bit late for The Sun to come out in support of Labour. They certainly won't be able to claim "It's the Sun wot dunnit".

Jenny at Pepperโ€™s in Melton invited me to join their craft session and talk about Labourโ€™s plans for mental health support services. From my perspective, I was better at policy than card making but pleased to talk about our plan for 8500 more mental health staff in our NHS.๐Ÿ’™

The bets placed on the July election havenโ€™t just battered the reputation of the Tory party during the campaign. They also delivered a significant logistical advantage to Labour. I mentioned before that Labourโ€™s campaign leaders saw the odds move on 21 May, and this put them on red alert. So the following day, a few hours before Sunak announced the election in that deluge, they took a lot of important decisions and actions, including what to spend in important target seats, printing pamphlets and so on with a new logo and making massive purchases of advertising space for the final day and most of the final week across multiple platforms. As others have pointed out, Labourโ€™s adverts are everywhere on news sites, inter alia. โ€œBecause of the betting we were much more ready and we were in a position to buy the prime real estate that we assumed the Tories would haveโ€ says a member of Starmerโ€™s team. โ€œThe betting gave us an unexpected opportunityโ€. In a way it is perhaps surprising that Sunak hasnโ€™t been even more furious with the candidates and officials who placed election-date bets
