Do you have a vision for how best to support grad student workers? If this is you, Join the GSAN Leadership Team! As members of GSAN’s leadership have retired and moved on from graduate school, we currently have one active member of the leadership team. It would be a shame to see GSAN’s network and good work dissolve at this critical moment in graduate student organizing. The future of GSAN is what we make of it! email [email protected] with inquiries or statements of interest by August 31st. Vote of confidence will be open September 1st - 7th."

ALT Poster: Arrested for this? Recent UC Repression and the Movement for Cops Off Campus Three workers arrested at UCSD for peaceful protest. How Cops Off Campus can inform union strategy moving forward. On June 29, three UCSD Academic Workers were arrested at their homes by the University of California Police Department, charged with two felonies for writing messages in washable sidewalk chalk and window markers at a peaceful protest in May, and jailed overnight. On July 18, a fourth worker was targeted. Campus police entered their apartment under a warrant specifically looking for affiliation with UAW or AFSCME. UAW leadership is focusing on circulating a petition (sign here: change.org/UCDropCharges) and rallies. However, these are not enough to address overpowering. Join us in a panel discussion about police abolition on UC campuses. All are welcome!
