Cox’s office keeps telling Utahns to tighten their belts.
His chief of staff didn’t.
Jon Pierpont took home about $461,600 in 2024 salary and benefits; 337,986 in pay plus roughly $123,600 in benefits.
That’s almost double what Gov. Spencer Cox himself made that year ($182,200 + $62,800). It’s also more than many governors’ chiefs of staff in California, Texas, New York, and Florida.
In 2021, Pierpont’s salary was $120,574. By 2022 it had jumped to $242,572. Then came another ~$50,000, then another ~$40,000. Call it “market.” Taxpayers call it a raise they never voted for.
Cox just tied his own pay to the chief justice and collected a 29% bump to $249,250. Pierpont was already clearing more than that in salary alone and that’s before benefits. The House and Senate chiefs of staff cleared $300k+ too.
Utah families are staring at housing, groceries, and property taxes. The Cox administration is staring at another compensation line item.

University of Utah students claim to “condemn” harassment but made an entire petition specifically targeting me. After this clearly went against this companies policy, they attempted to backtrack their harassment towards me and has made it about the College Republicans. You can still see the hate comments that students/people have left on the original post.

I have lived through Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson,Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, G. H. W. Bush, Clinton, G. W. Bush, Obama, and Biden. In my lifetime have I never seen or heard of a President being scrutinized over every word he speaks, humiliated by the public to the point of wanting to hurt someone, slandered, ridiculed, insulted, and lied to. I have never heard their wives or children threatened, insulted, and humiliated. I am truly ashamed of the behavior of people in this country. I am ashamed of the ruthless, hating, cruel Trump haters who have no morals, and news reporters who feel they have the right to purposely lie and chastise the President. Every past President was left to run the country after they were elected and had taken the oath of office. They weren’t on the news 24/7 being drawn and quartered, every word and sentence dissected, constantly pressured to do this or that without an ounce of moral support.
JUST IMAGINE HOW MUCH MORE HE COULD ACCOMPLISH IF HE DIDN’T HAVE TO DEFEND HIMSELF CONSTANTLY.

Salt Lake City - Utah's No. 1 land, water hoarder, and airport hoarder is at it again.
The Federal gov't buys land for Utah's airport controlled by Salt Lake City. SLC sells it off the land to Utah absorbing SLC's $70,000/yr maintenance cost.
Utah taxpayers lose twice.
This 1,000 acres was funded mostly by the federals gov't for the airport. Again SLC is cashing in on getting free gov't stuff, then reselling it.
49 state have State Airport Authorities. Utah does not. Why? So all the FAA millions go to benefit SLC not UT.
Salt Lake City is off loading 1,000 acres of worthless wetlands to the State for $5 million+? to get out of paying $70,000 a year to maintain it.
Salt Lake City pulls this same stunt on water it gets for free from Utah. SLC claims the need water. Utah forks it over for free. SLC declares it surplus, bypassed the Utash Constitutional prohibition of selling water by transferring the water right to its alter ego Metro SLC and sells it out the back door for millions.
Salt Lake City preaches poor socialism, but practices rich capitalism with its municipal monopoly getting free stuff and re-selling for millions.
500,000 acre-feet of water, 32,000 acres outside SLC limites, 3 airports - SLC hoarding portfolio.
Why do tax payers have to give Salt Lake City $5 million for wetlands tax payers already paid, and for land that is already protected?
Good deal for Salt Lake City. Bad deal for Utah families.
Why isn't Salt Lake City paying Utah milliosn to absorb this $70,000 a year maintenance obligation?
Utah will spend $70,000 a year to maintain this land to the benefit of SLC's airport monopoly.
How is this a good deal?
