Joined the residents of Isiolo County for this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations at the Isiolo Police Mess Grounds in Isiolo Town.
This year’s Mashujaa Day theme reminds us of the importance of promoting peace and security, nurturing sporting talent, strengthening our economy to create opportunities and improve livelihoods for all.
As we honour our national heroes, we also remember the five individuals who tragically lost their lives in the Gotu bandit attack on 16th September 2026. To the two police officers, the National Police Reservist and the two elders who lost their lives in the line of duty and service to their community, you are our heroes. Your courage, sacrifice and dedication will never be forgotten. We stand in solidarity with your families and pray that they find strength and comfort during this difficult time.
May this Mashujaa Day renew our collective commitment to peace, unity and security, as we work together to build a prosperous and resilient Isiolo County for present and future generations.

This morning, I received H.E. KANG Hyungshik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kenya, for a courtesy call and a visit to Northern Abattoir Limited.
Our discussions focused on exploring the feasibility of establishing a pilot project for animal feed production to enhance livestock productivity and improve the quality of livestock products destined for local and international markets.
With support from the World Bank, fodder production initiatives are already underway across all 10 wards of Isiolo County, supporting improved livestock nutrition and strengthening the county’s livestock value chain.
We appreciate the Ambassador’s willingness to strengthen cooperation between Isiolo County and the Republic of Korea. Through partnerships with relevant Korean agencies, we look forward to advancing initiatives that promote livestock value addition, create economic opportunities, strengthen food security and improve the livelihoods of our people.
