@Dunkatog At speed 4, I can't tap Endrider Catalyzer for mana in exile so clearly Max Speed does not function in exile per the Release Notes. Matt says something different. Confusing.

@Dunkatog In rule 614.12, the phrase "continuous effects from the permanent's own static abilities that would apply to it once it's on the battlefield", I believe it should say "would apply only to it".

@Dunkatog Test case: Rhythm of the Wild and other creatures entering simultaneously while Opalescence is out. As written, RotW can give itself Riot, but not the creatures entering with it and I don't think that is intended. None of them should get Riot.

Why would anyone listen to @elonmusk with regards to voting advice? The guy's a billionaire, he's not at all like most voters. #USElection2024

@WotC_Matt Fisher's Talent L3 I Heat Shimmer Dandan, do I end up with an 8/8 blue Octopus token with no other characteristics, not even Haste or the exile delayed trigger?

@WotC_Matt Conversely, if I Heat Shimmer Avian Changeling in the same situation, I get an Avian Changeling token with Haste and the exile delayed trigger, yeah?

@WotC_Matt Is there any reason to pay X [E] on Wheel of Potential? Can you explain the intent of the card?
1
133
@WotC_Matt "You get [E][E][E], then you may pay any amount of [E]. If you do, each player may exile their hand and draw that many cards and if you paid 7 or more [E], you may play cards you own exiled this way until the end of your next turn." ?

@WotC_Matt @Dunkatog Possible Oracle change for three cards? Ajani's Chosen Nahiri, Heir of the Ancients Nahiri, the Lithomancer

@WotC_Matt @Dunkatog After some discussion in the Rules Guru Discord. We propose the following change for the Nahiri's. "You may attach an Equipment you control to it." to "If you created one or more tokens this way, you may attach an Equipment you control to one of them."

@WotC_Matt @Dunkatog For Ajani's Chosen... "If that enchantment is an Aura, you may attach it to the token." to "If that enchantment is an Aura and you created one or more tokens this way, you may attach the aura to one of the tokens."

@WotC_Matt @Dunkatog It seems rule 702.170d is missing something, possibly a couple things. It makes no mention of priority being required. Second, as written I can cast a plotted sorcery at instant timing via Hypersonic Dragon starting next turn.
1
19
@WotC_Matt @Dunkatog If the interaction with Hypersonic Dragon is intended, great. If it isn't, you'll want to insert an "only" in there. - A plotted card's owner may cast it [..] *only* during their main phase while the stack is empty [..]
1
17
@WotC_Matt @Dunkatog Perhaps... - 702.170d. A plotted card's owner may cast it from exile without paying its mana cost on any turn following the turn in which it became plotted, but only any time they could cast a sorcery (see 307.5). [..]

@Dunkatog @WotC_Matt Metallic Mimic (zombie), Ghoul's Night Out puts creature cards on the field, do they get a +1/+1 counter? Per 611.2e, they're zombies simultaneous with entry so the effect doesn't exist already in look-ahead and should mean that Mimic won't apply (614.12)

@Dunkatog @WotC_Matt It kind of feels like they should, but the rules don't appear to let them.

@WotC_Matt @dunkatog For the dies trigger of Lamplight Phoenix, the cost for the conditional effect, is it two sequential actions in order per 608.2c or can they be paid in either order, like for costs of spells/activations? or are they intended to be processed simultaneously?

@Dunkatog @WotC_Matt MKM revisits the Investigate keyword, but it doesn't appear to clarify how it is to be handled. Can a player Investigate (or Incubate) more than once simultaneously or is the action inherently sequential?
3
368
@dunkatog @WotC_Matt For example: if a player Investigates or Incubates twice, do they get one food or two if they control Peregrine Took?
47
@dunkatog @WotC_Matt There's a Gatherer ruling on Full Flowering for Populate that indicates it is a sequential action.

@Dunkatog @WotC_Matt Is there any difference between how the two pairs of cards are handled? Sophina, Spearsage Deserter and Wojtek Investigator vs. Declaration in Stone and Tivit, Seller of Secrets

@Dunkatog Does Magar create the copy of the card on the battlefield and its cast from there per 701.6 and 707.12? 707.14 indicates it has the characteristics of the noted card as it existed in the yard, but that wouldn't necessarily override where it's made.
2
78
@Dunkatog Also, if it is created on the field and not cast what happens? 704.5e says to ignore that copy of a card on the field so we just have an instant or sorcery sitting there on the field?

@FayAnnaWatson > they are technically spirits known as Maiar, created by the god-like Valar. The Maiar were created by Eru, not the Valar. "Eru’s thought gave birth to the Ainur, the Holy Ones, including those who would become the Valar and Maiar."

Also, the Stranger is clearly Gandalf. In one of the scenes the Stranger is writing runes and the first one shown is 'G' the same rune that he later inscribed on Bag End's door.
1
Gandalf served Manwë. "Manwe was master of the skies and controlled the air and weather over Arda." This explains why the Stranger could speak with the fireflies, like he did with the moth while imprisoned at Orthanc and with the Great Eagles.
