I was detained by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell last evening from Central Delhi and taken to its Sadiq Nagar office in connection with a tweet I had posted against PM Narendra Modi.
I was questioned through the night and released earlier today. I fully cooperated with the police, answered every question put to me, and will continue to cooperate with the process in every manner required.
The Special Cell was created to deal with serious national security matters such as terrorism, counterfeit currency, narcotics and organised crime. It is, therefore, unfortunate that political free speech has reached a point where such a specialised unit has to spend its time and resources examining a political tweet.
I have been asked to visit the Special Cell again tomorrow, and I will do so. I will also appear whenever required and extend my full cooperation.
At the same time, this experience does not change my political convictions or my commitment to raising issues that I believe matter to our democracy.
Our fight against vote chori by Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Gyanesh Kumar will continue, peacefully, democratically and within the framework of the law.

Since Delhi Police under Amit Shah is not allowing us to protest anywhere in the capital,
all buses carrying MPs of opposition parties are now moving to Jantar Mantar - the designated spot for peaceful protests. Article 19 gives us our Constitutional right for democratic protest.

In UP's Mathura, five gurukul students climb in to clean water tank; 4 dead
At a Gurukul in UP's Mathura, students were asked to clean the foul-smelling water tank. A boy climbed in. He didn’t come out. Four others went down after him to pull him out. All five collapsed, apparently from toxic gas trapped inside. They were eventually rescued and rushed to hospital. Four were declared dead. The fifth, Rudraksh, survived and is under treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Manu Katare, Vishu Sharma, Aryan Pandey and Devansh Sharma, aged roughly 16 to 20. About 100 students live at the gurukul, which is run by Ashish Kumar Sharma who fled from the premises after the incident.

Just spoke to a friend of mine in Delhi. He is completely neutral politically and does not support any party.
He just heard about Rahul Gandhi’s protest against vote chori.
His first said, “This is not just about a political party. As citizens, we have a responsibility too. Tell me how I can participate in this protest.”
