The merc lurches his body against the concrete stoop of the clubhouse—
ignoring the smell of melting flesh and burning road-leather dancing around in the air. He uses the building’s out of control flames to light a bent-up cigarette before taking a huge puff and climbing back onto his feet to blend into the spectating crowd. Hopefully a nice payday.
