Hello - I'm rarely around these parts anymore, but if you'd like my thoughts on Gopher basketball I am indeed keeping the Barn Babble flame lit via a podcast this season. Go Gophers! open.spotify.com/episode/0PH…

Game #1: DATA Dawson's 4th-career 30-pt game & highest single-gm ORtg (179) of his career Parker's 2nd-highest single-gm ORtg (186) of his career EYE TEST Brennan has to be more active off the ball Femi has a uniquely quirky skillset & some "Jelly" to his ballhandling

Game #5: DATA Parker (127), Isaac (123), Dawson (115), and Brennan (111) all w really solid ORtgs while being weighed down by some duds from Lu'Cye (41), Femi (29), and Frank (0!) EYES Femi has to be put in fewer "decision-making" positions Frank has to take care of the ball

BONUS THOUGHT While the offense is leaning towards "trainwreck" (eFG% 256th in D1), the law of averages can hopefully help: Lu'Cye - 14% & 13% below career avgs for 2s & 3s Femi - 18% & 31% below career avgs for 2s & 3s Brennan - 6% & 5% below career avgs for 2s & 3s

May I interest you in a nonpartisan article discussing Gopher basketball to pass the time on this historic election day? Far too many words about Ben Johnson's squad this year as we kick off Year Four (!) of Barn Babble! barnbabble.wordpress.com/202…

Arguably the most entertaining regular season Wolves game I can remember watching? NAW the catalyst & Ant the closer.

One of the dumbest baseball plays you’ll ever have the privilege of watching
this team is so aggravating, you cannot get doubled on a popup bunt

Saw this earlier today & I can think of no better way to describe it all. Don't fool yourself into thinking this season was the "same old MN sports" because it just factually was not. I thank this squad for re-igniting my Wolves fandom to a level I haven't seen in 20 years.
The Wolves' over-under before the season was 44.5 wins. They won 56 games, had the best defense in the NBA, curbstomped Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, and beat the defending champions three times in their own gym. They aren't who we thought they were. But in the other direction.

This is a big reason why I've yet to move past the denial stage... I just really think we're due for a positive correction in late-game execution. Just really unfortunate that we've dug ourselves such a deep hole.
Minnesota in 4th quarters this series: 22 PTS on 8/20 FG, 5 TO in Game 1 22 PTS on 7/15 FG, 4 TO in Game 2 20 PTS on 9/20 FG. 2 TO in Game 3 Minnesota had a 121.3 offensive rating in 4th quarters after the all-star break. They have a 95.5 off. rating in 4th quarters this series.

I’m in the denial stage of grief at this point & thus I refuse to give up on this team. Let’s win Tuesday & get this back to MPLS. There’s gotta be a first time for everything, right? Right?! (cries in wolf howls)
