Time for another @GopherJS live development thread. Last time (xitter.cf/Nevkontakte/status/153…) we were fixing standard library test failures introduced by Go 1.18. Today we will focus on the compiler regression test suite: github.com/golang/go/tree/ma…
So, I have a few spare hours and am going to spend them on adding Go 1.18 support to @GopherJS. And as an experiment, I'll try to live tweet how it goes. So if you are not in a mood for threads, mute me for a few hours :)

So, do you want to see more GopherJS live development threads like yesterday? I won't doo them too often (tweeting slows the work down quite a bit), but there are plenty of interesting projects ahead (generics 😱).

I'm generally pretty bad at drawing, but I'm pretty happy with this @GopherJS fan art (: #golang

I've been working on @GopherJS support for slice to array pointer conversion introduced in #golang 1.17, and had to dig into the semantics of arrays of array pointers in Go (types I rarely use directly in my code). Turns out, there are some funky gotchas hiding in the spec. 🧵

I've been enjoying GitHub Actions a lot lately. Turns out you can write them in Go without having to use Docker by building with @GopherJS ! Want to find out how? Check out my latest blog post: steveyackey.com/post/gopherj…

Apparently @1Password's online password-generation page uses @GopherJS. Fascinating. I was curious the page used a cryptographically secure random number generator, so I searched the JavaScript for "crypto". (It does, by the way.) 1password.com/password-gener…

I'm sad to report that you all collectively fail. The correct answer is "depends". #golang impls are compliant if they report either "3" or "4". "3" is valid because spec says: "Pointers to distinct zero-size variables may or may not be equal." GopherJS = 4. cmd/compile = 3. xitter.cf/bradfitz/status/951534…
#golang pop quiz (@davecheney style): what does this program print? package main func main() { print(len(map[interface{}]int{ new(int): 1, new(int): 2, new(struct{}): 3, new(struct{}): 4, })) }
