For nearly five years, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has lived with the responsibilities of leading a country at war. But in a deeply personal exchange with Reuters, the Ukrainian president revealed what he misses most about the life he left behind.
Asked whether he missed being an actor, Zelenskyy replied:
โI miss being a good father.โ
The conversation then turned to his children.
When they were younger, what did he tell them?
โI love you.โ
And now that they are older?
โI miss you.โ
Three words that capture the personal cost of a presidency consumed by war. Behind the speeches, negotiations and constant demands of leadership is a father who misses spending time with his children.
Then came a question about heroism.
โAre you a hero?โ
โNo.โ
When asked whom he considers his heroes, Zelenskyy answered:
โMy children, our army, and the Ukrainian people. I am part of our nation. I think our nation is absolutely heroic.โ
He was given the opportunity to describe himself as a hero. Instead, he spoke about his family, the soldiers defending Ukraine and the people enduring the war.
For all the attention surrounding Zelenskyy as a wartime president, this exchange offered a much more personal glimpse of the man behind the office.
And perhaps the most moving words were not about courage or leadership at all.

๐จ WOW. This clip of Marco Rubio needs to be watched in its entirety. Rubio makes a series of stunning admissions about Ukraine's access to Starshield while taking a swipe at President Zelenskyy over restrictions that are hampering Ukraine's ability to defend itself.
RUBIO: โIt's not at this moment available to Ukraine, and that's under conversation.โ
Rubio CONFIRMS Ukraine does NOT have access to the U.S. military's StarShield system, despite requesting it to carry out deep strikes inside Russia.
โThey've asked for access to it in order to conduct deep strikes inside of Russia. They do not have access to it at this moment.โ
When pressed about Zelenskyy's claim that Starlink restrictions were deliberately imposed, Rubio attacks the Ukrainian president:
โI'm not sure Zelensky knows what he's talking about.โ
Rubio then insists the White House had nothing to do with the restrictions, but offers a remarkable explanation for how they occurred:
โNobody ordered that Starlink speed to be slowed down. It sort of happened.โ
Rubio also claims the restrictions have been lifted, despite Zelenskyy saying they REMAIN in place and revealing that Ukraine conducted tests showing Starlink worked at higher speeds in the EU than in Ukraine.
And when asked about the disruptions, Rubio admits his information is based on what he read and heard two days earlier:
โThat's what I read, you know, that's what we heard two days ago.โ

This is what happened when Zelensky met with Melvin Hurwitz a United States World War 2 Veteran.
The Veteran tried to kiss Zelensky's hand, quickly realising what was happening, Zelesnky pulls his hand, he didn't feel like he deserved that level of respect from a Hero. Instead Zelesnky brings himself down to his level and embraces him instead.
Veteran: โYouโre the savior of the people!โ
Zelenskyy: โNo, no, no. You saved Europe.โ
Veteran: โYou bring tears to my eyes. You are my heroโ
Zelenskyy: โNo, no, you are our hero.โ
Veteran: โI pray for you.โ
When in France for the 100th aniversary of World War 1, Trump was asked if he would visit the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery where 2,289 United States Military personal lay after being killed in World War 1, Trump said:
โWhy should I go to that cemetery? Itโs filled with losers.โ
In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 United States Marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as โSuckersโ for being killed fighting the Nazi Army.
In 2025 the United States brough home the bodies of 4 fallen United States Service members as their remains returned home. It was usual protocol for Presidents to attend and welcome them home as a show of respect. Trump didnt bother, instead he went to his Golf Club in Florida.
In 2024 at a public event, Trump compared the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a civilian honor, with the Medal of Honor, the highest U.S. military decoration for valor in combat.
He said the civilian award was โmuch better,โ then remarked that Medal of Honor recipients are often severely wounded or dead so Medals Of Honor where insignificant.
They are not the same.

The trend this year continues โ since the start of fall, our warriors have liberated more territory than the Russians have managed to capture. The same was true at other points this year. We continue to press the Russians at the front.
Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Orikhiv, Novopavlivka, Novoandriivka, and Velykomykhailivka are all under Ukrainian control. We are also defending the areas near Kramatorsk and destroying Russian forces 20 kilometers from Zaporizhzhia, not 5, as someone over there in Russia is snowing Putin.

Russia is getting a taste of its own medicine.
St. Petersburg and the surrounding Leningrad region came under the largest Ukrainian drone attack, with hundreds of drones targeting critical infrastructure.
According to russian reports the following objects were hit:
The St. Petersburg Oil Terminal.
The VKontakte data center.
The 330 kV Vostochnaya electrical station.
A major cable-stayed bridge in St. Petersburg.
Parts of the region experienced electricity outages and disruptions to water supplies.
For years, russia has systematically attacked Ukraineโs energy infrastructure, oil facilities, and civilian infrastructure, trying to plunge Ukrainian cities into darkness.
Now, the war is increasingly reaching russiaโs own critical infrastructure.
Putin wanted to destroy Ukraineโs economy. Instead, he is destroying russiaโs economy.
Russia can stop this war at any moment by leaving Ukrainian territory.
