A2: To be honest... A LOT of it makes me uncomfortable because I don't know the proper way to react/support that will make a difference. I also would like to choose ACTION but find that I am unsure of how to begin this action #WeLeadEd

A1: To care for myself, I am taking time to reflect on current situations, journal, and listen to calming music. To care for others, I have been texting people I haven't talked to in a long time to reconnect with them and check in. I'm talking daily to my family as well #WeLeadEd

We should be encouraging the tough conversations about race and equality. Encourage students to express their concerns and ask questions. We cannot better understand each other until we get the courage to ask and listen. #edtechchat

A1: Access can be a very tricky thing to overcome. I think that providing equal opportunities within the classroom and looking at things as a whole class can help change this. Having a voice verbally within the classroom is a first step to everyone having a voice. #edtechchat

#edtechchat I reposted this tweet earlier today, and I think it sums up best the direction we would like to take for our discussion tonight

A7: This summer will be heavy on the professional learning side as I continue to complete my Masters of Education degree. I should be done in August, WOOHOO! Last summer I took 2 AQ courses which kept me busy as well. Maybe summer off in 2021? #AppleEDUchat #5414SoMe

Such a great idea! Learning while having fun! #5414SoMe
A6 Absolutely! I created a selfie bingo for my students that isn’t necessarily centered around learning. #AppleEDUchat
A6: Personally, (as a substitute teacher) I will be connecting with students I tutor over the summer. This is focused on learning activities but I try to make them fun and valuable. After all, it is summer “vacation”! #AppleEDUChat
A5: Encourage learning that doesn’t have to be graded and assessed by teachers. Reading regularly. Using math strategies to count things in nature or patterns. Finding examples of science within nature. #AppleEDUchat

A4: Resources and activities that get students outside. It is summer after all, we all want to be outside and enjoying the sunshine. Offer suggestions for students to find math and science within nature. #AppleEDUchat

A3: As a supply teacher I do not have to prepare for this necessarily. I support parents as I support their children as I tutor many students weekly (not sure bc of Covid for this summer). If possibly I will do virtual tutoring #AppleEDUchat

A2: There are many areas of learning that can extend through the summer. Fun things like encouraging students to look for patterns in nature, read a book nightly, count while cooking or out on a walk. Learning doesn’t have to be planned by teachers all the time #AppleEDUchat

A5: As a substitute teacher, I hope to be better at making meaningful connections with the students, even though I only see them for one day. I will try and find a book or podcast that might help me discover how to do this! #FlipClassChat

A3: Next year, I want to worry less about the little things. Not letting small things that I shouldn't stress about, bug me will help my mental and physical health! I need to learn to LET THINGS GO 🚀 #FlipClassChat

A2: Eating more fresh veggies from our family's garden, getting outside to be active at least 3 times a week (even if it is super hot out), and having ME time! 🌽🌞 #FlipClassChat
