Yes, the minimum wage should be raised to $25/hour.
No, it won’t make the price of your Big Mac go up.
Studies show this. Other countries that pay higher wages show this.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Economists have competing models of minimum wage impacts on fast food prices, but all show increases. In the context of a 2022 min. wage law in CA, UC Riverside’s Chris Thornberg predicts a $22/hr rate would raise prices 20%, while UC Berkeley’s Michael Reich predicts 2.3%.

For the first time in History a Federal Judge ruled that @amazon Cease and Desist all illegal Union Busting. This ruling is being enforced by the NLRB. Thanks to our historical victory at JFK8 Staten Island Amazon management has to read the 30 page ruling to all 8,300 members.

With a heavy heart I must announce that we lost our bid for unionization, 165-51. To those looking to take this fight on, please know that this was not a win on Home Depot's part, but a loss on ours. We let them off the hook, but we fought. And that's what matters most. Fight.

My wife, Ellen Haun, realized she only needed to earn $804 more in order to qualify for SAG Health Insurance. So we're to making a short film called "Ellen Needs Insurance" to pay her and every other actor we cast the amount they need to get insurance. seedandspark.com/fund/ellen-…

We get a lot of spam and soliciting emails from companies/artists who think we’re a traditional radio station… but this is absolutely a first.
So we guess there’s only one thing to do. #HappyBirthdayJayne 📻🎶 youtu.be/GC5E8ie2pdM

Day 5!
This will come as a shock I’m sure, but they walked from the table once again.
🥱 Starbucks is really paying their lawyers to sit around and do nothing. They’d rather waste hundreds of dollars an hour than actually bargain with us.

I think this article/essay from a former police officer is the single greatest insight into what the police are, why they do what they do, and the problems that need addressing. I highly encourage everyone to give it a read. medium.com/@OfcrACab/confess…

I don’t think the general public, and even people who follow this stuff, appreciate how high the stakes are in the bargaining that’s underway b/w Starbucks and its union. 1/

Debunking 4 myths about inflation:
1) Inflation is not being driven by wage increases.
2) Corporate profits are one of the main drivers.
3) Aid to people during the pandemic did not overheat the economy.
4) Inflation is not the result of President Biden’s policies.

Remember when Uber, Lyft, and Doordash spent millions lying to the public about Prop 22 so they could keep paying their workers poverty wages? Well get ready: McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Chipotle are about to pull the same trick. Don’t fall for it!
NEW: McDonald's, Starbucks and Chipotle are backing a 2024 ballot measure campaign to overturn a landmark fast food workers' rights bill recently signed into law in California.
