Imam Ahmed Ali just posted a victory lap over a Pakistani flag-raising in the middle of Brooklyn’s “Little Pakistan” - complete with a New York State assemblyman handing a proclamation to the president of the Pakistani American Law Enforcement Society. Take this in America! An American city. American elected officials. American law enforcement. Celebrating Pakistan and an Islamic terror nation that treats non-Muslims like non-humans! Pakistan is the country where Osama bin Laden was found a short drive from its premier military academy. Its intelligence service has played both sides with the Taliban and militant groups while Pakistan remained a major American partner. Its blasphemy laws have been used to imprison religious minorities, while accusations have repeatedly triggered mob violence against Christians, Ahmadis and Hindus. Yet here we are naming a Brooklyn neighborhood “Little Pakistan,” forming nationality-based Islamic law-enforcement organizations, raising Pakistan’s flag and watching our own elected officials arrive with proclamations for Pakistani Independence Day. Try imagining the reverse in Islamabad: An American flag-raising. “Little America.” A Non-Muslim American Law Enforcement Society. Pakistani politicians arriving to congratulate them. The absurdity tells you everything. This is the one-way street America refuses to confront. We are literally surrendering our country. How humiliating is this for our non-Muslim pro-America police officers! I feel sick to my stomach for them! THIS IS NOT ASSIMILATION.
