The son and daughter of former Somali despot Siad Barre, whose brutal regime was responsible for the deaths of as many as 200,000 people, have been found living in Columbus, Ohio.
Ayanle Mohamed Siad, described as his father’s “right-hand man,” and his sister Deka have resided in the US since fleeing Somalia following Barre’s 1991 ouster. Deka and her husband ran a home health care company that received more than $1.8 million in Medicare funding before closing in 2021.
