hyperliquid $hype is one of those crypto products that makes you ask a very simple question:
what happens when you stop treating good UX as optional?
because for years, using DeFi often came with a trade-off.
you wanted self-custody, but the experience could be clunky.
you wanted decentralization, but you had to accept slower execution or fragmented liquidity.
hyperliquid came in with a different proposition:
why not try to make the product good enough that people actually want to use it?
and i think that’s a big part of why it became difficult to ignore.
people don’t wake up wanting to use “decentralized infrastructure.”
they want to trade.
they want liquidity.
they want speed.
they want the product to work.
the underlying architecture matters, obviously.
but the user experiences the product through the screen first.
i think hyperliquid @HyperliquidX is a good reminder that crypto products don’t just compete on decentralization anymore.
they’re increasingly competing on whether they can give users a reason to leave something that already works.

There was a real build-up at one point. Participation expanded properly.
Then it pulled back. Now it’s sitting lower.
What matters to me isn’t the peak. It’s what happens after the peak.
