INEC Targets 103m Voters, moves to counter Fake News Ahead of 2027 Elections
#NigeriaDecides2027
The Hon. Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, SAN, alongside National Commissioners, Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) from across the South-East Zone, and other senior officials of the Commission, continued the readiness assessment visit to Enugu State ahead of the 2027 General Election, engaging with staff and assessing the Commission’s level of preparedness for the polls.
Speaking during the engagement, Prof. Amupitan emphasised the need for strict neutrality, professionalism and adherence to the provisions of the Electoral Act and the Commission’s code of conduct. He cautioned staff against actions capable of undermining public confidence in the electoral process.
The INEC chairman said that while the commission had recorded progress in recent off-cycle elections, the scale of the forthcoming general election required more rigorous planning, stronger coordination and strict adherence to established procedures.
According to him, INEC had completed nine of the 14 major statutory milestones outlined in its revised timetable and schedule of activities, adding that the commission must sustain the pace of implementation as election day approaches.
He urged staff to resist political pressure, financial inducements and intimidation, while ensuring that every decision was guided by the law rather than personal interests or political considerations.
The chairman said the commission would continue working with security agencies to protect election personnel, technological assets, materials and voters, while ensuring that polling units remained accessible despite local security challenges.
Earlier, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Enugu State, Dr. Chukwuemeka J. Chukwu, said the assessment provided an opportunity to examine operational realities, identify gaps, share experiences and develop practical solutions ahead of the general election.

Retweet aggressively.
Many people don't know the date for the elections.
APC is banking on this point.
Voter apathy = Successful Rigging.

INEC disregarded the Electoral Act by its failure to publish the voters’ register online for public scrutiny. The statutory 90-day deadline has elapsed. @inecnigeria will set Nigeria on fire.

NIGERIANS MAKE ONA NO SLEEP O
@inecnigeria has refused to publish the voters register ONLINE.
Even offline sef, as per @ARISEtv report, it wasn’t published in some polling units in Lagos and people have to personally request for it. No be so o!
The danger of waiting till day of election is that if your name is missing from your polling units, you will be disenfranchised and won’t vote o!
Why are opposition sleeping?

Make ona no sleep o
INEC is already flaunting the electoral laws.
Am I overthinking this? Because I am genuinely struggling to understand what is happening in Nigeria.
@inecnigeria has disregarded the Electoral Act by failing to publish the voters’ register online for public scrutiny, even after the statutory 90-day deadline has passed.
Even under Mahmood Yakubu, the register was published online, with a mechanism for complaints and objections.
Today, NOTHING!
And somehow, the country has moved on like nothing happened.
WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?
Apart from @ARISEtv and @fijnigeria, where is the Nigerian media?
Where are @YIAGA, @EUinNigeria @EU_SDGN , @NDI and the other civil society organisations?
@NigeriaNDCHQ .@ADCNig ARE YOU PEOPLE SLEEPING? Are you actually preparing for this election?
This is the voters’ register we are talking about. THE VERY FOUNDATION OF AN ELECTION!
INEC has effectively said, “To hell with public scrutiny. Do your worst.”
And our collective response is SILENCE.
I am genuinely pained.
We complain about electoral malpractice and compromised institutions, yet when it is time to demand accountability BEFORE an election, everybody suddenly goes quiet.
Must we wait until votes are cast and results are disputed before we start shouting?
Seriously, am I the only one who finds this silence deeply disturbing?

I promise you, there used to be a time…
The nation is poor and bleeding.
About ten years ago, once it’s November, you’d begin to smell Christmas on the streets, in the local shops, in churches, even in schools.
A lot has been stolen from us, basic things now feel like luxury.

Nigerians are not aware that a tax law has been passed, which requires everyone to pay 25% of their earnings as tax. The National Assembly has already passed this law, and it will swing into action after the election.

Yes, Peter Obi will never be president in your lifetime, but he will be president in 2027.

Na these pictures sweet me pass. 😂😂😂😂
The Alfa snapping with the PO and the Chief Imam praying for him.
This gesture makes Obi a person who is generally acceptable.
A new Nigeria is here. 👌
